Pleasant surprise

This place is in a strip mall with a very un-inviting store front. But the food was wonderful! It is a small family owned and run restaurant. My husband had the special and I ordered off the menu, both we very good. We will eat here again if we are ever in the area!

When we arrived for lunch we were lucky enough to be seated and served by the owner and his wife. They recommended a dish that was so tasty my mouth watered. I enjoy different foods from different cultures and this place did not disappoint.

The meal was so good, included appetizers at lunch. We shared a pistachio baklava (?) for dessert and had a glass of tea. Under $30 with tip for both of us. Healthy, freshly cut vegetables were at least half the plate, the seasoning was pleasant, not over powering or too light. The chicken we had was tender and tasty. The... More

I loved the traditional way they serve up their appetizers with every meal. I had the garlic chicken which was very tender and tasty. Another friend ordered the chicken shawarma which he said was outstanding. I would definitely come back and try it next time. It's a small place that isn't fancy at all but the food was good and... I've been hearing about this place for years and finally went last week. The host was very welcoming and the restaurant it self was inviting and homey, unlike most of the restaurants in Vancouver. The food was pretty good and includes pita bread and some interesting appetizers (salsa and variations of cabbage). Overall the food was delicious. We all ordered... More

If you want to be a bit adventuresome and delight in new & wonderful tastes while experiencing some phenomenal service at reasonable prices, visit the Jerusalem Cafe in Vancouver, WA. The portions are well balanced and menu selection varied. I was hesitant to visit but am so very glad that I did. My lady and our two friends were equally... More

Stopped by first week of January. Served quickly. The owner stopped by and helped us order. Showed us how to eat our particular dish in a manner in which we would enjoy it better. We surely did. Great food at a good price. Would come again!

The family will welcome you with open arms each and every time you visit, even it has been years, which was the case with us. We tried the lamb special of the day and the falafel. They also served us some small salads with pita as a starter, which was fantastic. We used the Payback coupon, which was buy one... More

The owner here welcomes you just like you are family. The shrimp kabobs are the best. The spices they use excite the pallet. The hummus platter they serve for an appetizer is a must have. Great wine list and service. Everything is made fresh when you order.
