My family was visiting and wanted seafood. We planned on going to Tubby's. It was very crowded and did not look very handicap accessible for my nephew's power wheelchair. So we decided to try Tortuga's, which was just down the road. We weren't sure about it because it was small. But we were pleasantly surprised with the service and food.... More

Feels like a family experience. Great place. We've been for lunch and brunch. Never disappointed. The blue cheese chips are the best.

Off the beaten path in the Thunderbolt area. Seemed like mostly locals but we were treated just like a regular. Good Service. Good Caribbean Food.

Tortugas may be quiet and out of the way, but people need to know about it. The food here is very good. Some of my favorite dishes for brunch are the crab cake omelette, the french toast with the pecan "syrup" and the crab cakes Benedict. The sandwiches are wonderful as well with some very interesting and flavorful combinations. The... More

While visiting a friend in Thunderbolt, we had lunch at this local restaurant. The food was excellent the staff was very friendly, and they made us feel like "regulars.". We liked the casual atmosphere and we will definitely return to this restaurant the next time we are visiting.

Looking for a seafood cafe and found a great local place for crab cakes. You can tell the cafe owners are originally from Maryland. And know how to cook a good cake. Crab cakes in the Low Country tend to be over spiced and over breaded, for my taste. These were perfect, all crab meat and flaky. The fried green... More

Went here on a Friday night and it was surprisingly uncrowded. There were only about 5 tables of patrons. The location is nice, although the potential for a scenic water view is ruined by shrubbery across the street. For the appetizer, we had fried shrimp- it tasted fresh and seasoned right for us. Wasn't a big fan of the cocktail... More

The food at the Tortugas Island Grill is excellent, but the best meal is Sunday Brunch. They have excellent stone-ground grits, great fluffy biscuits, and fantastic fish (especially recommend the Sheepshead fish, when they have it). Wait staff are very pleasant. We will return for brunch often.

I never even thought of a dish like this before... but a Maryland Crab Cakes (which means it all meat, no filler) on a grilled tomato, a grilled portabella mushroom, a bed of fresh spinach, feta cheese, and warm vinagrette! How amazing can on bite really be?? Love this eclectic atmosphere on the marina's edge too! This place is a... More
