This is perfect lunch solution while walking the historic district in Savannah, and is also a nice break from the intense, heavy, southern cooking everywhere else. The Broughton Street location is always crowded, so take-out is an excellent option: one of the benches in one of Savannah's spectacular squares is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch break. Lucky us! Kayak Kafe has opened a second location on Paulsen. The food is always so fresh and delicious with interesting twists on well known dishes. It's a little noisy and can be crowded right at lunch so I try to go a bit later but definitely worth it.

A crispy treat on Broughton Street...the heart of the shopping in Historic Savannah. A delicious healthy lunch awaits as life in America's most revisited city passes before your eyes.

We went to the second location on Paulsen St. in Savannah. We have enjoyed the Broughton St location before, but at Paulsen there is a parking lot...an added plus. Funny, but we had the exact same lunch as another recent poster, Lime chicken and goat cheese enchiladas and the Italian Panini, and they were both excellent. Kayak Kafe uses fresh... More

This place pleased the meat eaters and veggies of the group alike. The seared tofu tacos we're excellent and the beer list was solid. The service isn't polished but the whole vibe is relaxed so it works. Nothing much to the atmosphere but the good makes up for any lack therein.

Lots of choices for vegetarians but your non-vegetarians friends will not be disappointed either. I had the tofu burrito which was full of eggplant, mushrooms and peppers! Yummy! Nice touch that the burrito was grilled. One in our party had the tomato bisque soup served with warm pita bread and raved at its flavor.

Fresh, flavorful and interesting combinations await you here. I don't give out a lot of 5's so don't miss this. Loved the lime chicken and goat cheese enchiladas. My husband, a more traditional eater, had very good things to say about the Italian panini.

Our second visit to Kayak Kafe, shares a lobby with a health club, also has only one unisex toilet, But not a big thing. Food is fresh and original, the Cuban Panini , Roasted Lime Chicken Enchilades and in a Burrito also were very good, the Georgia Shrimp Panini though left room for improvement, not enough shrimp and to much... I ordered outside my comfort zone and got something I absolutely loved. My husband ordered the turkey and cheese grilled something-or-other and loved his meal, too. Would definitely eat here again. Wednesday lunch crowded and slow...but so worth it.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while out and about. We were very pleased with the healthier food choices that were also tasty. A great place for lunch!
