This was our second visit to Gryphon Tea Room. My husband and I, now transplants to the Lowcountry, were spending a day in Savannah to enjoy Christmas shopping and decorations and wanted to return here for lunch. It was a week day and very quiet for lunch. My husband ordered a grilled chicken dish and found the chicken a bit... More

We have eaten here on each of our past five trips to Savannah. This is a great place for a leisurely lunch filled with a fun filled menu with a number of Southern twists. Be sure to leave room for dessert. You won't be disappointed in the food or the attentive, friendly service by the SCAD waiters and waitresses.

We had taken a private tour of Savannah when we were there a few weeks ago, and after the tour we went to the Gryphon for a late afternoon lunch. The food was good, and so were the desserts. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. The interior décor was interesting, and there must have... More

We had a very enjoyable lunch in this interesting location. Now owned by SCAD and employing mainly SCAD students, this was previously a pharmacy. The interior is very attractive with its high ceilings, nice woodwork and its book-filled bookshelves. The menu was quite varied and creative and the service prompt and friendly. On a busy Friday we had to leave... More

This was a pleasant surprise discovered on my husband's cell phone. We had just arrived in Savannah in pouring rain and were quite hungry. We were warmly welcomed and our waitress told us the history of the amazing building. My husband ordered the salmon, bacon, avocado sandwich, and It was perfect. My salad with pulled pork was quite tasty and... More

We had eaten here on a previous visit to Savannah and loved it so we decided to return. The building is owned by SCAD and the original stained glass, etc. of the old pharmacy remain. Most of the servers here are SCAD students. We called the morning of our visit and made a reservation. I would recommend a reservation unless you... More

My wife and I stopped here on our way back from the farmers market in Forsyth park. I had the prosciutto, fig spread and goat cheese sandwich on toasted country bread. The sandwich was very tasty.

Absolutely fabulous pharmacy /soda fountain turned tea room with character and charm in spades. To be fair we only had tea and pastries so can't comment on the food quality overall. But what we had was absolutely lovely and not over priced. Staff was super helpful and knowledgable too. A lovely way to spend an hour in savannah.

Not fancy but a great character restaurant with good light food. A little off beat but worth the walk in a good and interesting area of old Savannah.
