This tea room is run by SCAD. It was originally an apothecary and the woodwork and stained glass are original. A player piano entertains with old time tunes. It's small so reservations are recommended. We stopped in for a small bite and had soup and shared an order of scones. It was delicious. The menu looked very nice if you... More

Once an old pharmacy and then later a SCAD library, Gryphon’s Tea Room slams you over the head with ATMOSPHERE and it is both comfy and classy with plenty of visual interest to distract any visitor. We came as curiosity seekers because I am a purveyor of fine loose teas myself so I was a bit disappointed in the limited... More

We always get the tea for 2 and never disappoints. The place is run by Scad students and they do an excellent job. We always make this a stop while we are in town. The scones are super yummy as is everything on the menu!

If you visit Savannah and miss the Gryphon, you've missed out on an amazing experience. This former Masonic temple and apothecary (appropriately named Solomon's) is owned and run by SCAD (Savannah School of Art and Design). The staff is composed of SCAD students who are sweet and extremely attentive. The high tea is a must! Scones with clotted cream and... More

We sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed a relaxed light meal and TEA. The hubs was underwhelmed by his soup but I really enjoyed tea and my sandwich and my niece loved her peanut butter sandwich. Great location across from SCAD gift gallery.

This was our second visit to Gryphon Tea Room. My husband and I, now transplants to the Lowcountry, were spending a day in Savannah to enjoy Christmas shopping and decorations and wanted to return here for lunch. It was a week day and very quiet for lunch. My husband ordered a grilled chicken dish and found the chicken a bit... More

We have eaten here on each of our past five trips to Savannah. This is a great place for a leisurely lunch filled with a fun filled menu with a number of Southern twists. Be sure to leave room for dessert. You won't be disappointed in the food or the attentive, friendly service by the SCAD waiters and waitresses.
