Absolutely fabulous pharmacy /soda fountain turned tea room with character and charm in spades. To be fair we only had tea and pastries so can't comment on the food quality overall. But what we had was absolutely lovely and not over priced. Staff was super helpful and knowledgable too. A lovely way to spend an hour in savannah.

Not fancy but a great character restaurant with good light food. A little off beat but worth the walk in a good and interesting area of old Savannah.

My wife, daughter and I had lunch here. We had no idea it was owned by SCAD and we thought that was very cool. The food and service were both excellent. We highly recommend this place.

Gryphon Tea Rooms is known for afternoon tea. It is still a somewhat of a upscale lunch location staffed with student waitresses from SCAD. Tea and the tower of treats was pleasant. The room is quite attractive. It is relaxing but you have to make your own choice if the price is worth it.

The decor and history of this restaurant is beautiful but the food is just average. Went there with friends for lunch and I was a little disappointed with my dish, the stuffed portobello mushroom. Not as flavorful as I was expecting and it was served with a bland side salad.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday attracted by the offerings on the menu posted outside. Turns out it was during brunch hours so none of the items we had wanted were available. Not a huge deal, but we were bummed... Why not just show the correct menu outside so folks know what to expect? My husband and I split... More

The former A.A. Solomons & Co. drugstore in Savannah’s historic district was a family-owned business that dated to the 1840's and which now houses Gryphon Tea Room. Many of the original furnishings were retained and give the restaurant a rich atmosphere. The servers are all art students and they are eager to please. Best of all, the food was very... More

Operated by SCAD students, this place is worth trying. The atmosphere is unique; sort of apothecary / library / victorian. The menu is just as different. I had an asian salmon for $15; my wife had a chicken salad. There were many tough choices. I thought the salmon was very good. It had a honey / soy like glaze. It... More

My girlfriend and I accidentally found this gem of a restaurant after an early morning of sightseeing. The building itself is historical in that it was once a century old apothecary and now beautifully restored by SCAD. We chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect. Our waitress was very gracious and attentive. We opted to have tea with... More

Looks historic--we were told by our waiter that it used to be a bookstore and an apothecary before that. Looks original, but in very good condition. We wanted wine with lunch, but they don't serve alcohol. Tea it is! And what good tea it is! so flavorful, much better than the stuff I make at home!! This restaurant is run... More
