Terrific Sunday Brunch, Exquisitely Prepared, with a Southern Flair

I do not rate all of the fine restaurants we have dined at, but every once in a while, you come across an exceptional dining experience, that is as unique as it is delicious. The Gryphon Tea Room is the exception that compels you to draw attention to the world. Our experience was the Sunday... read more

This Tea Room belongs to SCAD Art School and the Employees are Students. This is located inside an old Scottish Rite Temple Building. Very Art Deco Architecture so it is fitting it belongs to SCAD! Delightful tea Room that was also originally an old pharmacy. Books are inside the old Cabinets and a check is brought to your table inside... More

My husband and I enjoyed ourselves here. We just had a drink and scones. They were all delicious (I had a lavendar ooh lalalatte). Great atmosphere, good service.

This place was perfect for a late lunch. It is in a converted old pharmacy. Imagine stained glass and bookshelves everywhere. The food was simple but very well prepared and presented. The warm goat cheese salad and peach tea were amazing. Would absolutely eat here again.

We wanted to catch an early and light bite of food before leaving town, and Gryphon was perfect. My husband had the smoked salmon sandwich, which he said was excellent, and I had this amazing salad with bbq pork, avocados, bacon, jalapeño croutons, black eyed peas, deviled eggs, and probably a few other tasty treats I can't recall. The really... More

What a cool establishment. It looks like an old library/pharmacy combination. My friend and I ate a late lunch here and sat on green velvet chairs at a small table near the front window. There is stained glass, unique lighting, furniture, and a wall-papered ceiling along with leopard printed carpet! Our waitress provided perfect service; our food was light and... More

We just stumbled upon this tea room while looking in some antique shops. First off we walked in and noticed how gorgeous this place is!!!! Spectacular woodwork everywhere you look, It turns out this place was originally and old apothecary and olde fashion soda fountain many many years ago!!! They kept the original apothecary drawers and book shelves, the place... More

We came to the Gryphon Tea Room in hopes of getting a grilled pimento cheese sandwich we had seen advertised elsewhere but found they no longer offered it. They did have other tasty options however and so we were ok. I had the salmon club and my friend had the prosciutto and both were delicious. We also ordered a pot... More

If nothing else, you must see this place. The set up and decor are really interesting and beautiful. We had a great lunch here. We had chicken salads and grilled chicken salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The almond toffee cookies they give you at the end of your meal was such a nice touch and so yummy. I would love... More
