We visited Savannah after having lived in the beautiful city for several years. Gryphon was one of our favorite haunts and we looked forward to spending time there again. Surprised when we walked into a 'new' version without the old comfy seating and shabby colorful Victorian look. We were told we could not sit on the old comfy Victorian seating... More

This is one of the most charming restaurants I have ever been to. The atmosphere is the main reason I love going to this restaurant. The piano, the old apothecary bar, and the hundreds of books create the perfect environment for any devoted reader and lover of good food! The cobb salad was delicious -- I could eat this every... We called in primarily to escape a downpour and to grab a cup of tea but ended up having a lazy lunch and an excellent coffee. Situated in an old Scottish Masonic Rites Temple, that then became a pharmacy, these elegant rooms have original Tiffany lights and many other fascinating features. The lunch time menu is simple - salads, soups,... More

Take time and ask questions. Fabulous tea selection, soups and brilliant cucumber salad. Across the street is the scad store abounding with innovative items. I believe it( tea room) is over 100 years old and riddled with original fixtures. Pure and simple - fabulous.

I was in Savannah for the day with a friend. Lovely relaxing meal. We stuck to the traditional tea with scones and sandwiches. Other than England I do not think I ever experienced traditional tea like this. Highly recommended. The regular menu looked good too.

A friend familiar with Savannah recommended Gryphon to me. The recommendation was problematic since she didn't remember the name, However, it was not hard to find the name since it is associated with SCAD. We arrived during the lunch period to find all the tables filled. It is a popular place! We were lucky enough to find the last two... More

I was not expecting a tea room so I was not disappointed. We happened up the Gryphon when we were walking around looking at the various squares and decided to stop for lunch. The service and the food were excellent. I had cold shrimp pasta salad and my husband had a smoked salmon club sandwich. If they want to succeed... More

We enjoyed a couple of pots of tea and the stacks of treats that we re delivered for high tea. Loved the atmosphere, the service, and the food. It was fun!

Reasonable prices in a great location. The room is done up in woods and carpets. The service was excellent and the food well prepared and very tasty. Only open 11 to 6 so this is basically a lunch or early light dinner. Easy to get at location in the historical district of Savannah. Highly recommend
