Experience better than the ice cream

The ice cream is really good. Between the 4 of us, we had banana, caramel swirl, strawberry, and peanut butter w/chocolate drops. The best part (4 previous trips all the same) of Leopolds's is the nostalgia of the experience. The workers are most friendly, too. Our family had a very nice... read more

I grew up eating ice cream that was even featured on Oprah Winfrey, but Leopold's is by far the best ice cream I have ever had. We make a point to go multiple times while I'm Savannah. It's definitely worth the wait.

Felt the ice cram did not live up to the hype. Had a cup of caramel swirl and lemon custard. Lemon custard has been on the menu since the beginning of the parlor but I felt it was rather bland. Caramel swirl needed more caramel. Really have had better ice cream from the cartons sold at Publix grocery.

It was everything it was supposed to be. Miss Lindsey was very accommodating with the Girl Scout box lunch program. The chicken salad was over the top good, the egg salad superb, the girls loved the ham and cheese, and the ice cream - WHOA! Everyone in our group agreed we have never had better. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Just be... More

Good ice cream with a good selection. Try the honey and almond ice cream for something different. The line moves at a good pace and tables turn over fast.

My husband walked to Leopolds after a waiter recommended it for ice cream. We walked several blocks to visit, stood in line for 15 minutes in the hot weather. I thought it was a nice gesture that an employee came out and offered ice water to people in line. I had the lemon custard and my husband had the butter... More

Great Homemade icecream. Don't be frightened by the line. Service is quick and if you are lucky enough you will make new friends while waiting.

When we visited this shop there was a constant long line to get ice cream. The line does move at a good pace. Had no problem finding a table to eat our ice cream, despite the crowds. I got a double scoop of mint chip ice cream, YUM! However, I would get it in a to go cup next time.... More

The ice cream was fine, but nothing special. And, it was hardly worth the 30 minutes we waited in line for it. But, the vibe inside the restaurant was cool. Lots of memorabilia to look at and read about. I'm really not sure what the buzz is all about.

The wait is worth it! Step back into the '50's for an authentic old time ice cream and soda shop. If you eat there, you are served in glassware. The homemade sodas are great. Free water in the back (self serve) if you are hot from the southern sun.
