We waited 15-20 minutes with no service, watching as the other tables received drinks, bread, lunches, and even tabs. There were only 5-6 tables that were filled with patrons, therefore they were not busy at all. Vic's on the River is indeed on the Savannah River, but with only one or two tables close enough to a window to see the river, you could be anywhere - but the food makes up for that. While walking in the heat in historic Savannah I was looking for a nice cool restaurant to stop in and have a drink. I was very happy to find Vics, which is up an elevator if you are coming in from the river side. The restaurant is beautiful, large windows overlooking the water. I only sat in the bar area... more

Our visit to Vic's was fantastic. We requested and received a table by the window so we could look out onto the Savannah River and that really added to the occasion. My husband and I had lunch at Vic's this week. We both had shrimp which was perfectly prepared. Our server was outstanding! Very nice! more

The service & food is excellent; piano player provides nice atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant. However, the restaurant does not provide a "scenic view of the river" as touted in its write up. There is one large window facing the river.....only 1-2 tables get a view of the river. more
