This is a charming restaurant that is located in the basement of 114 Barnard street. Exposed brick walls gives this lovely dinning room a rustic feel, very comfortable. Wait staff, Robert was our server, was meticulous and extremely helpful. 1st course was outstanding, I had the pork belly with sweet potato puree which was outstanding. My friend had the alligator... The winning combination of excellent food, spectacular presentation and superb service made Alligator Soul one of the finest restaurants we've ever been to. The dining room ambiance was really nice too.

Excellent service, unusual and delicious food, and a sexy atmosphere have made this restaurant one of my favorite ever! I highly recommend this place for a special dinner. They also have some tasty wines and great cocktail list. It is well worth the price!

We went to this restaurant our last night in Savannah and was really expecting a great meal but sadly wasn't impressed. While our server was nice he would set meals down and say "I don't like this or that" and tell us to push it to the side. If your staff doesn't like certain parts of the meal I think... More

Thank you for the candid feedback, Chelsey -- I appreciate you pointing out those areas where you think we can make improvements. As we use only fresh ingredients, our supply can be unpredictable. Still, I'm sorry if we ran out of those items you were looking forward to trying. As far as the service goes, I'll be personally looking into... More

My husband and I went to Alligator Soul at 6pm on a Saturday night without a reservation. We were not able to get a table but able to sit at the bar and have a drink and eat dinner. Staff was amazing, very knowledgable about the menu and drinks. Food is excellent - we had 1/2 dozen oysters (excellent) carving... More

We really had high hopes and expectations so maybe that is why we were a bit let down. First the positives....the murals on the wall and the blues music playing was great. Our drinks were wonderful and the bar tender even made a special mojito for me. For appetizer we ordered the alligator fritter. I felt for the price it... More

Of course it's always disappointing when a guest doesn't walk away with a completely outstanding experience here -- especially when they have high hopes that we didn't quite deliver on. Your steak should have been absolutely delicious, and your fritter perfectly cooked. Those are some of our most popular dishes here, so it sounds like you caught us on an... More

I highly recommend this place. The space itself is nice but the food makes this a must stop and the service gives it WOW factor. Our waiter, Rashiad, was amazing. Once he found out that we were visiting from Philly, he brought by one of his fellow waiters who is from the Philly area. He instantly made us feel at... More

Fabulous food and welcoming service is exactly what we're about -- I'm so happy the team made that come across for you! The fact that the ribeye is now on your top five list is incredible, and I know the kitchen will think so too. Can't wait for your next visit from Philly! Maureen Craig, Owner More

We chose this restaurant because of its location........walkable from the Jepson Center for the Arts. We arrived early and the hostess was most welcoming, seated us by the fire, and immediately took our drink orders. We loved the atmosphere and our service was great. The Parmesan grits "croutons" on my salad were delicious. I'm glad I got the dressing on... More

I appreciate this feedback, Linda -- both the compliments and candid comments alike. Ultimately it sounds like you enjoyed the flavors of your meal, and that's great. I'll be talking with the kitchen about the dressing and the cornbread muffins, though, so thank you for sharing your opinion there! Looking forward to next time, Maureen Craig, Owner More
