Atmosphere is very unusual being sort of 'underground', reminded me of a wine cellar. Most of our food was really good, tried the bison short ribs (fantastic). We arrived a touch early for our reservation and were immediately whisked away for a cocktail in a cozy corner while our table was readied. Our waitress, Hannah, was well versed in the chef's options on the menu as well as knowledgeable about the extensive wine list. Our meals were well flavored and balanced with the wines Hannah suggested. Wish... More

I took my sister to Alligator Soul for her birthday. They greeted us at the door with a happy birthday! Made her day! We were seated in the lounge area for a drink before our table was ready. I love that the server you are going to have for dinner takes care of you in the lounge....makes it easier when... More

Wife and I were in Savannah for a few days on our way to Florida and were told by friends to check this place out. Didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar which was fun. We had the oysters which are baked and served with a house made hot sauce which were very good(should've gotten a dozen) and... More

I recently had dinner with family members at Alligator Soul in Savannah. We have tried many of the city's eateries and can recommend AS for great food, classic Savannah atmosphere and friendly and efficient service. The restaurant presents the best of the old and the new South. It is a terrific space that was a cotton warehouse in a former... More

My husband and I just happened upon this hidden gem because the restaurant I had reservations for didn't really meet my expectations. We ended up having to sit at the bar because we didn't have reservations, but this was fine with us. I got the beef tenderloin and my husband got the rabbit jambayla. Both were excellent. We also tried... More

My daughter and I made this Savannah trip all about art and food. After reading the reviews for Alligator Soul we were sooooo looking forward to our dining experience. Unfortunately, though the food was above par, the table and service left us sooooo disappointed. First, despite having reservations we still waited a good 20 minutes for our table. That table... I can't tell you how disappointing it is to hear about your lackluster visit, Diana! After so much anticipation, it's a shame we let you down. You should always feel like your service is taking excellent care of you, and it's concerning that you found it to be inconsistent with other tables. I truly apologize for this and would love... If you like meat, then this is the place to be. I enjoyed bison very much. If your vegetarian, like my wife, the option of a dish called Veggies Fear Not, is wholly pretentious, and not worthy of the otherwise super selection. Why should we just take on trust that Chef knows best? The waiting area is nice, and so... More

It's great to see you enjoyed all of our meaty options! It's definitely what we're known for, and I'm glad the bison was the highlight. While exotic meats are our area of expertise, we offer a vegetarian option so that non-meat eaters can be included in the dining experience. It's disappointing that your wife wasn't wholly impressed with our vegetarian... More

We had a wonderful time here - the food was innovative and delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable and looked after us very well. The location may seem a little strange, it's pretty much in a basement but the place has ambiance and is charming. Check it out when you are in Savannah.

My husband and I didn't have a reservation on a Wednesday night, but we were able to sit at the bar and would do that again. Ambience represents Savannah's style and service is impeccable. Oysters appetizer is awesome! Make a reservation if time is an issue as there aren't many tables.

We always want you to have a memorable time dining with us, so even without a reservation, it's great to see that you and your husband had an enjoyable meal! The Oysters a la Soul is one of my favorites, too, so I don't blame you for being such a fan. There's plenty of other tasty treats, so I hope... More
