Angel's is a small hole-in-the-wall place behind the Presbyterian Church just off Oglethorpe. No air conditioning and they're only open until 3PM early in the week and 6PM later in the week. As I'm always looking for BBQ when traveling, I decided to hit Angel's for a lunch while in Savannah this past August. The tiny (when people say "Hole in the Wall" they are not kidding!)establishment is not a pretty thing but the brisket is awesome. My wife and I ate at Angel's BBQ for lunch on May 16, 2008 after a morning of sightseeing in Savannah. At first, we couldn't find it becasue we were confusing Oglethorpe LANE with Oglethorpe AVE. It's a little hard to find -- on a small street beside the Presbyterian Church. But this is good, real food. The bbq pork sandwich was great, with all kinds of sauces to choose from.
