Great food and atmosphere, pricey

Booked for my anniversary dinner. It is part of the Mansion on Forsyth Park hotel which we were staying at. Asked for a table by the fireplace which was provided. Waiter and all staff was very friendly. Restaurant is in an old house and very upscale. I had the black grouper and my wife had the... read more

Wonderful Experience! Service fantastic, food great,. We called for directions and was told the kitchen would close at 10 PM which was 15 minutes away. We were told they would hold the kitchen open for us. We finally arrived about 10:15 PM. When we walked in the door the maitre'd said "You must be the Freemans". I felt very special... More

The food is excellent here and there is an interesting history of the building, which is adjacent to the Mansion on Forsyth hotel (a SCAD student did her thesis and the report is available upon request at the reservations desk of the restaurant). It was once a funeral home and is said to be haunted. However, the draw for me... More

This restaurant was on of the highlights of my trip. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, very elegant; but you don't have to get dressed to the nines. The food was amazing. The service was spectacular. Our server, Julia, was very attentive but not intrusive. She was very professional and friendly. She also seemed to know the area and gave us... More

The food tasted great but the portions are really really small. They did not have the regular menu on valentines day and it was either a three course for i believe 59 or a four course for 69. I got the oysters for my starter.......There were only 2 oysters on the plate. YES 2 oysters. Then i got the arugula... More

While the food is very good the service was not on par with the food. Very slow to respond to request (over 30 minutes for a napkin). Very slow to refill water, etc. Just not what you expect for a restaurant that is at least 50.00 per person. Bought an adult plate (36.00) for 2 children to split and had... More

Great food, sublime atmosphere, courteous staff but let down by slow service and a lukewarm course. We thoroughly enjoyed our food as part of Savannah Restaurant week. Highlights were the Smoked Pheasant Stew and the Butterscotch Budino (one of the best desserts we have ever had). A chink in the armor appeared when our Brisket entree arrived more than lukewarm... This restaurant is in a 5 star hotel (The Mansion) in Savannah. I've eaten there before and have never been disappointed. The restaurant portion of the hotel is in the old Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, which sounds awful, but it's a beautiful Savannah Gray Brick (which is red colored, only called gray because of the river the mud came... We celebrated a family member's birthday here. The décor, service, and atmosphere were very pleasing. The food was very good and cooked as requested with the exception that we all felt the meat was too salted (filet) and the lettuce on my salad seemed older and soft. It could have been more crisp. The croutons and anchovies on my Caesar... More

The staff was so very gracious, the interior stunning, the food very good. Just a delightful experience. My companion had a beautifully cooked steak; I had a local fish beautifully prepared if a bit over salted. Our beet salads and dessert were excellent. The restaurant's wine list was excellent and our server was very helpful with suggestions. Will gladly return... More
