Good Food, Service & Open Late

The "open late" was the key part. We arrived in downtown late on Saturday night and a couple places we tried to eat (e.g. B Matthews) were no longer serving. In fact the B Matthews hostess directed us to Churchills. It was a good referral. The hostess was seating us in one room that had two... read more

I don't always expect restaurants in the tourist area to be the best, but this was great. Even though it is a British Pub theme, and not the lowland cuisine for which the area is famous, it was very nice. On a cold, rainy night, we wanted something very near the Hyatt, where we were staying. There was a nice... More

Great environs, some unique plates of food, good selection of draft beer and wines. Got selction of appetizers to share. Got truffle fries, a mushroom bruschetta and hush puppies with pimento sauce. The first 2 were very tasty and ample meals. Turned out the hush puppies were really not good. Told waiter and he immediately apologized and took them back... More

A quite lovely pub on the main street above the river walk. Offering traditional British fare, good fish and chip and brews and am American selection. A brilliant second story area for outdoor dinning overlooking a busy park and the river.

We had a rehearsal dinner that night the menu awesome, the salmon was perfect and chicken cordon bleu amazing too. The side items were great also, but the MAC-N-CHEESE was the bomb. Dessert selections, fantastic. The overall atmosphere was Excellent. Would highly recommend.

Went out of our way on a cold night and wish we hadn't bothered. The bar was nice but we had come for the food and it was only average. Had the fish and chips thinking that that would be "special" in and English pub but it was at best average. My wife and my brother both had the shepherds... More

Loved this! We ate and drank in the wine cellar. Great ambiance and service. The Bloody Good Bloody Mary was indeed bloody good. The peach martini was delightful! Highly recommend this place for dates as well as friends.

Went here because there was a menu in the window that looked pretty good. Once inside, it because apparent that it was just a bar that served food on the side. We had a brownie sundae and a glass of wine and left pretty quickly.

Hi there. Thank-you for your comments. We are little confused however. With two distinct dining rooms, nine further tables for food service in the main bar area, two private catering event venues and a full-service roof-top terrace, we surely must be categorized as more than "just a bar". Is it possible you have us confused with the neighboring bar next... More

Food was excellent. I had fish & chips and friend had shepherds pie. Both were good. Great pub feel. Will definitely come back.
