This was the best meal we had in Savannah over the three days we were there. Much better than the places downtown and more economical. It was a shame we didn't find it in time to go back more often. When we arrived in Savannah we decided to eat at Sweet Potatoes Kitchen first. The food had been prepared and sitting in the kitchen. It tasted like old food that had been sitting on the line. The greens were seasoned with lemon and not good. The peach cobbler was horrible. more

The food here is similar to that of Mrs. Wilkes with the Southern flair, however it is not family style. I ordered fried chicken and okra and it was amazing. I recommend this to anyone who is visiting Savannah. The dessert-pecan pie-was very good too but the sweet tea was a little too sweet for me. more

When you look at Sweet Potatoes from the outside you might be tempted to pass it by, however this would be a mistake! Sweet Potatoes may not have the "flash & dash" of the downtown Savannah restaurants, but it more than makes up for it with its delicious food, friendly atomosphere, and great service. We found this restaurant on tripadvisor, so we thought that we'd check it out. My only beef with the place is that the prices on the website are about $2 per entree cheaper than they are on the menu at the restaurant .
