The shrimp po-boy was delicious, but the banana pudding was amazing. Living in NY, I dream of this banana pudding, and cannot wait until I visit again, and will go straight to Sweet Potatoes just for their perfect pudding!!! The service is good too - our server kept our group's drinks filled, and was very attentive.

After many nights of eating on the road our family of five was getting sick of the bloated feeling from eating at restaurants each night. We had read the good reviews for Sweet Potatoes and definitely wanted to sample some genuine southern-style cooking. The drive from downtown Savannah was quick and easy. Our server was very friendly. The atmosphere was... More

My family ate at Sweet Potatoes TWICE!! If you want down to earth southern cooking, then look no further than Sweet Potatoes. It is a little drive from the Savannah historic district but it definitely worth it. We ate where the locals frequent. The fried chicken is excellent! Sides including the corn pudding, sweet potato fries were delicious. We would... More

A must go if you are into good food for a reasonable price , but don't expect any fancy ambiance. Down home southern food with a varied menu. I was part of a large group and everyone enjoyed their meals , Pot Roast , Fried Chicken , Meatloaf , Grilled Fish etc.. Very easy on the wallet , waiter was... More

Stopped in on road trip to Florida with family and parents. Good simple cooking with great flavors. Had the fried chicken and the peach-glazed barbeque chicken with various sides and it was all good. Banana pudding dessert is very good. Waitress was super friendly and service was great. Funky decor and location should not put you off - you must... More

It is by far the best southern restaurant we have ever eaten at. We had southern fried chicken which was absolutely delicious. As 2 sides we had roasted brussel sprouts, okra and sweet potatoes which was included. The atmosphere was great and our waitress was extremely nice and friendly.

This place is absolutely amazing! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is amazing. I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes. Other people in my group had the famous peach glazed chicken. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!!! You can't go wrong with this place! I can't wait to go back!!!

Great service and excellent southern food made fresh and with care. It was far from the tourist area but well worth the drive. Love it!

This little local restaurant is fantastic. Obviously scratch made food that is made with lots of care and love. The salmon and tilapia are fantastic and of course the sweet potato options are delectable. If you are in the area this place needs to be on your list of places to try!

My favorite hole-in-the-wall. It's popular amongst the locals, so get there early! No tourists--it seems like tourists would actually have a hard time finding the place, anyways. Funky walls and a really neat atmosphere, the food is AMAZING and real southern cooking. Staff is always friendly. We've been here countless times and have always left happy! Don't leave without trying... More
