Good food, great value

This restaurant on the upper floor of Mcdonough's feels like a bit like you've gone back in time. By today's standard's it is quiet - even with a singer playing old jazz standards on the piano. The owner, sits at the end of the bar as regular patrons come by to say hello. The menu stays pretty... read more

Billy's is a local place above the larger and more well known Mcdonough's. The food is excellent,, its very quaint and private, the lights are dim, and it caters to a late night crowd, excellent for a late meal, or early breakfast!

The food was awesome, the decor is very elegant, the atmosphere very romantic, the music adds to the ambience of a soft mood..I've been here many times, alone, and with friends. The owner Billy is a most gracious and accommodating southern gentleman, soft spoken, articulate, and make sure that the guests are nothing short of comfortable and satiated. This is... More

Several people told us to come here to eat the crab cakes. I am so glad we listened to them! These are not a little bit of crab drowned in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Instead the crab cake is a mound of....crab meat!! Deliciously prepared. The owner is often in the restaurant. He and the staff were all incredibly friendly.... More

Ate at Billy's tonight with my sister, our last night in Savannah this trip. Had stopped at McDonough;s bar this afternoon, tlaked with bartendress about where we would spend last night in town She brought us the bar menu and told us about Billy's upstairs. She then brought their menu to us. I saw the 20oz bone-in ribeye and couldn"t... More

My sister and I both ordered the veal chop. Hers was not cooked enough and mine was tough. My brother in law had the lamb chops and said they were not great. We went on a recommendation from our tour guide. The staff was very nice and very friendly but the food was not worth the money spent. Convenient to... More

Enjoyed a nice meal here and walked to the Savannah Historic Theatre for a show. Very convenient. We had the lamb and enjoyed it.

We reserved a table at Bills following a show at Savannah Theatre because tour guide "Savannah Dan" recommended it highly. We were not disappointed. It was not crowded due to our late night reservation. The waitress, hostess and everyone we talked to were amazing! Wife had lobster bisque and an amazing crab cake. I had the bone in ribeye. Both... We are locals in Savannah but always make a point to visit Billy's. The atmosphere, candles on each table, delicious food and live piano performances set a very romantic mood. We always make a point to visit Billy's Place while downtown. The owner, Billy is usually in the building and lingering by the bar. The building is very interesting. The... More
