Authentic Pub, Good Food

The last time I visited Six Pence was on a Saturday at lunch time, during August. It was of course very crowded, being in the downtown area on the tourist route. Despite the big crowd our food came out very promptly and the service was attentive. We had the baked brie, which is a must-try. It's... read more

Food was cooked with love...you could just tell! Fish was moist and savory and my steak was tender and also moist! Very dark inside but also very cozy.

This restaurant/pub was on our walking path for touring Savannah so all the guys were needing the feel of a ice cold beer after trudging around in the heat and humidity. It was a good choice, not to busy and had a nice comfortable feel to it. It has a large bar and plenty of tables and was able to... More

We stopped and ate lunch at Six Pence Pub and it was a great place to relax for lunch. We had been sightseeing in the City and it was so nice to cool off and eat some delicious sandwiches. The waiter was awesome, he checked on us constantly, refilling drinks. We really like the pub atmosphere and would highly recommend... More

Highly recommended. Authentic Irish food, comfort food, Ruben, open-faced roast beef, Brie, and excellent selection of UK beer. Friendly, quick service.

We stopped in for a cold beer twice during our recent visit to Savannah. It's conveniently located in the heart of the historic district. The ambiance is lovely and the menu looked very tasty (although we were there late-afternoon both times so didn't opt for food). We thought maybe the bartender wasn't having a good day the first day we... More

Stayed at the Foley House in Savannah (more later) and this was the first place we were told to try...glad we did. The pot roast was excellent but our waiter, Sean, made our first gastronomic experience in the city a great one Typical English pub but great food and staff!

We visited this pub twice but at no time entered. We ate on the sidewalk and enjoyed two very nice meals. The memory I have most is the friendliness of the staff and the atmospheric position of the pub. Oh, and some very nice IPA.

Loved the Six Pence! Our waitress was so nice and offered suggestions on the menu. My friend and I were having hard time deciding what to order and she suggested the pot roast....said it was really really good and that we would not be disappointed. We took her advice and were so glad that we did! It was amazing! I... More

The food was good. We tried their hamburger which was good and their chicken nachos - if you opt out of the liquid cheese and just do grated cheese they don't melt it on the chips so just be ready for messy meal - but good.
