It was a great hole in the wall kind of place. I frequent the establishment. Very down to earth, none of that decor that tries too hard to be Louisiana style. The food is just great. There arent that many things that I personally can have due to an allergy to onions. But everyone I take there has loved it.... More

We ate early on a Friday evening, so it was quiet with only one or two other parties at the restaurant. But the food was awesome. I had the Cajun sampler platter with etouffee, red beans and rice, and jambalaya. All were good, but the etouffee was awesome. My husband had a burrito with jambalaya and red beans and rice,... We visited late Thursday evening for a quick bite. It's a small bar with a food menu. The live music was awesome. It was welcoming and the staff was friendly. The grouper platter and bayou chicken club sandwich is recommended.

We drove down to the river in the historic part of Savannah and after walking along the cobblestones and taking in the riover side we settled into this small bar and eatery. The environment was tremendous, the menu whilst not large was local and good and you could comfortably take ion the area. The staff were freindly and genuine helping... More

This is a very cozy place on the riverfront. Good service, friendly people and good food. I had the gumbo and it was great. If you are bar hopping, give this place a go.

These were the best plumpest juiciest Oysters ever! I had the po boy and everything about it - from the preparation of the roll to the tomatoes and even the fries (which I don't usually eat) were fabulous! The place is like a joint/pub, and it should never change. The staff were incredibly friendly and The Bartender started telling me... More

Didn't know where to go in Savannah with so many choices so went to Tripadvisor and found Bayou Cafe. You don't go for the ambiance you go for the food, drinks and music. This is a bare bones pub style restaurant but had all the the ingredients we were looking for. We had the Jambalaya and the seafood gumbo -... More

We'd talked about trying this restaurant probably every time we went to River Street for the first several months living in the Savannah area, and we finally did last weekend. I had a pretty serious craving for jamabalaya that day, and the Bayou Cafe did NOT disappoint. Service was friendly, fast enough for our lazy sunday lunch, and the beer... More
