What a disappointment! We walked in hoping to get fresh steamed oysters. It was seat yourself, which was fine. After we were seated & the waitress brought our drinks, we were totally ignored. She passed by us several times & not once asked us if we were ready to order. We took our business elsewhere.

Sometimes when you’re visiting a city with Savannah’s broad appeal, it’s hard to figure out exactly which restaurant will give you at least one true gastro-pic of a town, and looking over Savannah’s multitude of offerings, we puzzled a while before deciding on the Bayou Café for lunch. We liked that it was located along the river, that there was... More

We had lunch at the Bayou one day, and then visited every other day for lunch after that. It is a charming, very rustic restaurant. Not a lover of grits, I have to say that the Shrimp and Grits are fantastic. They apparently fry the grits to make them nice and crunchy, and serve the shrimp with a roux. I do... More

We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. It is a hole in the wall. We found the food to be very good, getting the sampler platter and a side salad. The bartender took good care of us, but I was not crazy about our drinks coming in a plastic cup. It is cool though that you can walk... More

Walked in in the early evening and no one was there to take an order. There was a bartender caring for those at the bar and ordering drinks. Menu looks impressive.

We should have left when we noticed immediate lack of attention, but we decided not to be fickle. Wrong choice. The server was forgetful and the food tasted like there wasn't a chef on site. DO NOT get a crab cake sandwich... It managed to taste worse than a heated 7 day old refrigerator artifact- none of us could have... More

From the moment we walked in to smell old grease to the lack of service and disappointing food, this place simply wasn't anything to be impressed with. We had a hard time getting help and the food was terrible. The drinks were okay and the view from our little window was nice. Other than that, can't really find anything good... More

It's one of those places you walk by and you think yea ok and after its all finished your thrilled you went in. Our time in Savannah was short but this place gave us something to remember. To come back.

Went in and sat for quite a while before the one guy that was working there waited on us. They were out of everything. We ordered a drink since it was happy hour. I got a mixed drink that was brought out in a tiny plastic cup that was the size of those tiny styrofoam coffee cups. I figured since... More
