Description: One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

Had dinner with family & thoroughly enjoyed the food although the portions (we had New York strips) were huge, nobody was able to eat it all. Service was excellent.

We were able to make reservations on the fly mid week. The atmosphere is very upper crust but not snooty. We did find that the prices are closer to $$$$ than 3 and the menu is not as varied as we would have preferred. The staff was friendly and professional. Several of us ordered the 16 oz NY strip. It... More

We dined at the Sapphire Grill on a Thursday night recently. We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated promptly on arrival. We were seated at a half booth, private and comfortable and exactly to our liking. While there were other diners, it was fairly quiet and not crowded. We dressed a bit and noted that men were in collared... More

Went to the Sapphire Grill last night. Things started off wrong and got worse. My friend ordered for his Starter the Roasted ‘Canoe’ Bone Marrow & Crisp Nantucket Diver Scallops. No it clearly states this is a Bone Marrow and Diver Scallop dish. The waitress confused herself and brought him the starter he ordered plus a separate starter of Diver... More

Always a great meal when dining here. Servers are very knowldedgeable and friendly, and the menu always includes interesting specials. Creature of habit...always get the crab cake appetizer. Delicious! Their signature grouper is yummy, and their creme brulee is one of my favorites. Several in my group raved over thier New York Strip. Perfect location. Within short walk from most... More

Very good service, very good food, nice location - good wine selections - one of the better dining experiences I have had in Savannah. Enjoyed the foie gras and the duck breast was cooked to my liking. All in all an enjoyable evening and the price didn't shock me. Will return on my next visit.

Our second visit was as good as the first! The grouper was excellent as was the tuna steak. Jackie provided excellent service. They have a very nice wine selection and the Jordan wine is our first choice.

We were given the recommendation by the Inn in which we were staying (Hamilton Turner, also highly recommended) and I am glad we listened. It was a Sunday evening, last day of our vacation and we wanted to end it in style. The restaurant was not at all busy, having less than half the tables occupied. Our server Erin expertly... More

Nice assortment of entree choices. We both had the bouillabaisse, which was very good. A bit spicier than other bouillabaisses that I've had. It would be nice if they offered more soup and salad choices for starters. The dessert choices were impressive. We ordered the sampler for two - which was more then we needed, but very good. The wine... More
