Description: One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

We checked trip advisor to give us ideas of where to eat . We chose sapphire grill because it was close to our hotel. It was fabulous. The crab cakes were wonderful !! The service was great. We had a very enjoyable dinner.

We went on recommendation of my cousin who lives in the area. Easy walk from just about anywhere in the historic district. The duck was utterly fantastic. Crispy carmelized bits on very lean meat. Not too gamey, not the least bit greasy. Highly recommend. My husband had local grouper that was encrusted with black sesame seeds. Very tasty. Service was... More

Very pricey for the amount of food. The chicken entree was rather bland. My wife had the grouper entree which was fair.

We came in late for drinks and dessert, something we have done successfully here several times in the past. We were seated promptly and had nice drinks but we were disappointed with a fruit and cheese plate we ordered. The fruit was fine, but the cheese seemed like some really ordinary rectangular slices of grocery store quality smoked cheddar and... More

Went here as part of a large group. The staff was excellent, warm and friendly! The calamari was good but the crab cake apps stole the show - fabulous! The main course, grouper for me was as the server described, "the house specialty" and lived up to her praise. A sampling of desserts completed the meal and we left with... More

We visited The Sapphire Grill again last week and Chef Nason did not disappoint. The NY Strip with braised Oxtail was outstanding as was my wife's Rice Encrusted Tuna. The calamari was excellent, but the highlight for us was the Berry Cbbler that was made from scratch and fresh. If you like cobbler, it is worth the wait since they... More

The food was very good, but the evening was less than enjoyable because of our waiter's complete unwillingness to engage. He failed to discuss the menu offerings on the back of the menu (we might have been interested in them, but oh well) and once our order was placed he disappeared. I guess the good side of this was that... More

We were ending our first spring vacation in Savannah as a Mother's Day stopover. We found Sapphire Grill open online advertised as open on Sunday so we made a reservation. This was a classic Savannah savor-fair find! The restaurant was located in a narrow four story older building with elevators taking you to each floor. The first floor was the... More

The menu offers some exciting options (Bone marrow and Scallops) and the decor is intimate. The restaurant is a nice escape from overlay tourist attractions and activities in a city that is focused on squeezing money from all those that visit. I do recommend the drinks from the bar as they are made expertly and encompass a multitude of different... More

The veal strip loin & oxtail dish was outstanding as was the tuna for my wife. My son's steak was cooked perfectly. Service was spot on. Calamari was perfect as was the entire evening.
