One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

We went there for our anniversary and had another excellent meal. The strip was outstanding and the tuna was great as well. The seasonal berry cobbler was to die for as was the flourless tort. Service was impeccable.

We were 30 of us there for a company awards dinner. The room was long and VERY narrow so narrow that it didn't lend itself to mingling. The service was just ok as was the food. The stuffed chicken was not so good. The steak was good but lukewarm. At around $60 a plate I would have expected better.

The first trip we ever made to Savannah, we had gotten in really late and we had our cab driver just drop us off at any restaurant that he thought would be good. He dropped us off at Sapphire Grill as they were closing. The staff saw our weary souls and said, to come on in, they would stay open... More

From the reservation process thru completion this restaurant has it together. David the manager was extremely personable. Our waiter Nick from NJ knew how to service customers and was extremely knowledge about the menu. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. In fact dinner was so good we asked to speak to the chief who is also the owner. He... More

Sapphire reminds me of a New York restaurant tranplanted to Savannah. Probably the ambiance. But the artwork is pure Savannah as is the chef. The food is innovative without being rarefied. This is the only place in Savannah where I will have the crabcakes. Listed as an appetizer, I sometimes make them my main course combined with their wonderful Caesar... More

Both had the chicken with Brie and arugula, was pretty tasty and ingredients felt fresh. Also have a menu where you build your own combo, meat, sauce, sides. Gluten free options which I appreciated. Lots of interesting cocktails on their menu. Service was fairly good, we ate on main floor but I think there is seating upstairs also. Not inexpensive,... More

We spent 4 nights in Savannah and ate out each night. This was by far our favorite meal. Amazing food and atmosphere. The other 3 nights were all highly rated places and on all the lists of places not to miss. We did enjoy them but our evening at Sapphire Grill topped all of them. Our concierge suggested it and... We came here on a trusted recommendation and were so looking forward to dining at Sapphire Grill. The meal got off to a good start but I noticed the menu seemed confused. There was an assortment of Asian-influenced dishes combined with traditional American steakhouse/seafood choices. In addition, we were served a rosemary bread with olive oil and grated romano cheese,... More
