Description: One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

Went there on a non-busy Wednesday night. Server was good. Food was mediocre. Final bill for 2 of us---$210.00. That included an appetizer that tasted undercooked. An underwhelming entree for myself. Ahi tuna entree for the wife that was so-so. Bottle of wine that was decent for $48.00 that our "Delectable" wine app said retails for $10.00. I get the... More

We stopped in for dinner on NYE 2014. The food was fabulous! I had the foie gras appetizer; perfectly prepared. Overall an excellent experience. Our server Casey (sp?) was terrific.

We have been to Savannah many times but our first dinner at Sapphire Grill. By a twist of fate, we ended up having dinner 2 nights in a row. The first night, I had the tasting menu, $100 and it was mediocre. The first course was wonderful, the rest just ok. Every course had meat and every dish was just... More

We have not eaten here yet but it is on the "bucket list". The menu is impressive and expensive. We usually stop in to see Matt the bartender. He makes great drinks and it is a cozy place to have a night cap drink to end your night out in Savannah.

While I dine downtown often and at restaurants within all price ranges, I had never been to Sapphire Grill before. A friend insisted it was time for me to give it a try. Last evening I started off with a Caesar salad that was extremely ordinary with too much dressing and two soggy, tough croutons. Not a great start to... More

We dined with friends quite early on a Friday and so it was almost empty when we arrived. Not the case by the time we had finished i can assure you. It is an old building in the center of the town and the decor is traditional but comfortable with bare wooden floors but nice enough table settings etc. The... More

Still good but not the same food variety, selection and service as a couple years ago. I've been in, around & a vendor to the Foodservice industry for so long and am probably a little picky when I go back to a place that used to be awesome, especially with a $100pp check avg.

This was our first dinner in Savannah and the Sapphire Grill set the bar very high. The scallop with fennel appetizer was fabulous. My breast of duck was cooked to perfection and my husband said the chicken with Brie was the best chicken he's ever had. We don't usually do dessert but splurged on the chocolate gateau with lavender almond... More

We were in Savannah for the Rock n Roll marathon and that night we had not made any restaurant reservations. We took a walk and stumbled upon the Sapphire Grill. They were pretty full but fortunately were able to take us. Usually we check out reviews before going to restaurants that we are not familiar with, but we were tired... More
