I could only give this a 5 because TA doesn't have a 6. My wife was attending a conference at Savannah Harbour Westin and we were advised this was 1 of 2 must visit eateries. We walked and arrived at 1030 and yes there was a lineup. The restaurant is family style, meaning you sit with people you don't know... More

Great food, great service. Off the beaten path of the bigger restaurants. Home cooking at its finest.

A man at the gift shop in the Welcome Center highly recommended Mrs. Wilkes - even telling us the optimal time to go when the line is the shortest. Unless you are very lucky you will stand in line, but it's TOTALLY worth it!. Once admitted, you sit at large tables of 10 that are laden with 20+ southern dishes,... More

I love Mrs. Wilkes! Family owned, family style dining of the best southern cooking. All food brought to the table, seconds if you like. No alcohol served. $18 per adult, no credit cards accepted. Cash or checks. Be prepared to wait in line to be seated. This is a dining experience in a piece of history not to be missed... More

Wonderful and worth the weight. Make sure you try a little bit of everything first there is so much and you wont want to miss anything The Fried chicken was the best I ever had. But I think what makes it just an incredible meal is that you sit down family style and you get to meet beautiful people. Make... More

If you visit Savannah and do not go here, why are you visiting savannah!?!? This was the best lunch I have ever had in my life! Creamed corn, fried chicken, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were my favorite out of the table full of food! And wow the banana pudding! Go there!!!

More food than you could eat. Nice to try a little of everything. We were there in the off season so not big wait but it would be worth a wait and remember line goes fast because when you sit food it already on table. Will return when family and friends visit us.

If you like Southern Cooking, this is the best. Be sure and allow for a nap afterwords. We didn't have to wait for seating due to the time of year.
