Great meal

One hour wait and worth every minute and penny. Fabulous southern food. A can't miss when you are in Savannah. More food than you can imagine.

Mrs Wilkes is fun. Family style dining with random guests allows conversation in addition to conversations with guests on line well in advance of first seating. Experience boarding house dining at 10 person tables, passed dishes, clearing your own plate and flatware. The food is varied, good, something for everyone. For me a one shot low country dining experience, I... More

Spent almost 2 hours in line waiting, but the food was good and plentiful. Glad we came since we'd heard so much about it, but not sure I'd do the wait again.

We waited over almost an hour in the hot Savannah sun but the resulting meal was more than ample. The family style table held every type if soul food imaginable at quantities well beyond our capacity to consume. The fried chicken was the star and is not to be missed. A fun experience for your first visit. Come hungry and... More

I understand that this is an institution and people line up to get in, but the food is just average. Food is served family style - lots of different dishes piled on the table. While the fried chicken and pulled pork were good, most of the rest is just your average buffet quality food, the only difference is they bring... More

We waited for 1 1/2 to dine at Mrs. Wilkes and met very nice people in line. You share the table with strangers who were very polite at our table. When you sit down there is an amazing feast waiting for you at the table. My grandmother, from Savannah, used to cook a lot of these foods on Sunday. My... More

Mrs. Wilkes is delicious! The food and service were outstanding! Five star for sure. There was SO much food! Plenty to go around and much left over as well. One lady at our table counted 25 dishes of food not including dessert! Wow! As the other reviews have said, everything is served family style and you sit at tables of... More

This is a great place to go for authentic southern-style food. They are only open for lunch and no reservations so get in line early. Also, they only take cash (or at least that was the case when I went). My husband and I took some visiting relatives and we all had a good time. The food is tasty- you... More

Mrs. Wilkes is only open for lunch and they don't take reservations. People begin lining up even before 10:30 for the 11 opening. This is a small place and everyone is seated together with other people (tables are about 8-10 and there aren't very many of them). We arrived at 10:30 and there were enough people waiting in line ahead... More
