This is the 3rd time I have eaten at Mr. Wilkes. We love to go here and meet others while you wait in line and while you share a family-style lunch. Fried chicken is AMAZING. They bring so many different southern dishes to the table! We love the fun times we have here every time. It is a little pricey,... More

Be prepared to wait at least for an hour before you get to experience this place which is 107th number mentioned in the "1000 places to visit before you die". So as everyone does, we too waited in a long queue in the sultry hot Savannah. Finally we got our turn n we were seated on a big table filled... More

2 hour wait was well worth the wait! Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cream corn, macaroni and cheese, and green beans just to name a few. Best southern cooking in Savannah!

Traditional home style southern cooking done in a family sit down environment. Wished it was bigger with longer hours and expanded days open. But they can't expand enough to accomodate all their fans. Great food! Very much worth the wait.

Be prepared for a long wait, but worth it for the experience. Line starts about 8 a.m. Actually, waiting in line is part of the experience! This was originally Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House, where you stayed and shared meals together. I believe there is also a small place here to stay still. A unique history here. They do not take... More

The fried chicken in this place is some of the best in the world. Problem is, there is so much food put on the table before you get the chicken you are already full. Just a word to the wise.

It is a shame that loyal customers have to wait in line in the sun with very little sitting places outside. As much money as this restaurant makes they should want their customers to be comfortable and invest in a bigger place. I know they have made enough money to expand.

We waited about an hour to get into Mrs. Wilkes restaurant. Once inside, we were seated with others at a large round table. The food was served "family style" which means it is in large bowls and platters on the table and you pass them around to serve yourself. We had so much southern food, you could hardly taste all... We heard about the long wait to get in before we went & also heard the food was out of this world. It opens at 11 - get there at 10 to stand in line - the food is awesome. No menu, you just walk in and the food's already there on the table, family style. Sweet tea is already... More
