Toucan Cafe is the inspiration and hard work of Steve Magulias and his wife Nancy. Their dedication to the creation of incredible dishes and a unique environment began in a tiny restaurant on Eisenhower. Our extensive menu includes blackened tilapia tacos, tomato dill soup, black and bleu ribeye steak, Moroccan salmon and a variety of vegetarian dishes. We also feature a private room for entertaining guests perfect for private events of any kind. Toucan always delivers

Toucan is one of the best values in Savannah. Great food and service at reasonable prices. Bourbon salmon and shrimp tacos were money. The house dressing on the entree salad is good enough to drink. Go there.

My family and I stopped at Toucan Cafe on our way from Maryland to Florida. This is our second visit and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was crowded when arrive with several groups waiting. We were seated quickly and served immediately. We ordered from the special restaurant week menu. The food in my opinion was outstanding. Our server was... More

This is our 1st time in Savannah so we relied on Tripadvisor for a high rated restaurant choice near by. The atmosphere was "okay", service "medicare", and food "eh". There were 3 in our party so we decided to each get something different and try each others. None of us were impressed with our selections, and the price for the... More

The bread was unique, different and very flavorful. I had the shrimp and Grits and it was without a doubt the best I have ever had. The waitress kept my glass full at all times as well as the bread basket. Everyone was extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed and appreciated.

Fantastic catch of day special. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the meal. The menu was very appealing in general. Fantastic house-made chips. Overindulged when I added the ice cream pie to close out the meal...loved it WAY too much!

Modern eclectic menu leaves it truly hard for you to decide on just one entree. Daily menu gives many to choose from. I have ordered two and taken some of both to go. I have not had a Chateaubriand steak that just melted in my mouth (SO AMAZING) since I first tried it in Germany twenty years ago. Not one... More

It honestly puts a smile on my face to read your kind words about our food. I can't believe that you haven't had a Chateaubriand like ours since you tried it in Germany -- what an awesome compliment. I really appreciate your support, and I hope we'll see you again soon! Until next time, Steve More

We were in Savannah visiting relatives and we're looking for a restaurant that offered something different than the chain restaurant menus. Toucan Restaurant didn't disappoint. We arrived during lunch hours and we're greeted by a friendly hostess that seated us immediately. The lunch menu isn't extensive, but includes a unique array of standard options and special offerings. I ordered the... More

Toucan is a favorite for a lunch spot! It has a lot of great choices and some are very interesting! Everything I've eaten there has been delicious and the prices are really not too shabby! The desserts are made fresh every day and never disappoint! You can dress up or go in work-out wear and feel comfortable there. The ambiance... More

We visited on a Monday evening after work and found the place to be in pretty rough shape. A rusty water filled fountain greeted us up front follow by a pretty dirty feeling place overall. Most importantly to us, the food was lackluster at best. We tried a black & blue salad followed by a Mediterranean salmon. We had heard... More

I have to admit, it's really surprising to read about your visit. Cleanliness is our top priority, so I apologize if that wasn't made completely clear to you. That said, we use the freshest ingredients and carefully crafted recipes for all of our dishes, so it's a shame that your meal wasn't up to par. We're always looking for ways... More

This place is away from all the tourist areas, so it's a safe haven for locals. I give it 5 stars across the board. We'll definitely go back, as long as the tourists don't overrun the place and turn it into a circus like most places downtown. My gf and I dined early evening on a Monday. The atmosphere inside...
