The first night in Savannah, we ate at the owner's other restaurant (Sweet Potato). It was excellent. The second night, we ate at Toucan Cafe, and enjoyed one of the best meals we've had recently. The atmosphere is casually elegant. The bread was warm, and the tilapia stuffed with crab was delicious. We all tried each others' dishes, and found... more

A very nice restaurant where management is very observant and involved in daily operations. The food is good, a little eclectic and maybe a little pricier than some, but the place gets pretty busy at lunch. (The garlic pickles come with the meal as an "appetizer" that will leave you wanting more! Check out the menu at: http://www.toucancafe.com/menu.html more

My husband and I dined here tonight and have on several occasions, however, this evening the service was terrible and the food was ok. The service we had this evening was just awful. We felt rushed from the moment we entered the restaurant and we really chose to eat here for the whole dining experience. We ordered an appetizer to... more

My husband and I vacationed in Savannah for five nights. We ate at Toucan for the last four evenings. Everything was superb, food, wine, service and prices. We tried so many different dishes - feta chicken, sea scallops and lump crab cake, wasabi-crusted tuna, teriyaki flank steak and sesame shrimp. Everything was wonderful. Met the owner who is very nice.... more

My husband and I went this past weekend, and had an amazing lunch here. Not only is the atmosphere fun and casual, but the food is wonderful. There was so much to choose from the menu that looked so good. They have a wide selection of vegetarian choices as well. Finally, we decided to have the tomato dill soup (was... more

The Toucan Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in Savannah. I took my family there last night. The food was amazing. It can sometimes get a little crowded and noisy (with locals), and the service can ocasionally be a little slow, but it is definitly worth it. The food is fresh and delicious. I've never been dissapointed. The ecclectic... more

A relatively small slice of Spanakopita on the appetizer list is 8 bucks. They just add another slice to it, include it in the main entree and now its 16 bucks. Go figure. The food was'nt bad but the portions were'nt big enough for that kind of price. Plus the waitress who served us didnt even smile once . She... more

We had one of our best meals in Savannah at the Toucan Cafe. It's tucked away in the Midtown area, but you should search it out. They had several specials, of which we had the Black & Bleu steak and the Lump Crab, Prosciutto & Goat Cheese-Stuffed Chicken. Both were incredible. The house salad dressing is great as well. The... more

The food just wasn’t very good. It’s not that it was bad, it just had kind of an Appleby’s quality to it and it was way overpriced. Additionally, the staff, while friendly, just seemed to have this halfway house vibe. more
