The dinner we had here was a highlight to our trip to Savannah. We came with another couple from Montreal, where there is gourmet food on every corner. They loved this restaurant and raved about the desert especially. The wine list is extensive and even had Italian wine (most places have only French or Californian) and the selection was just... We were reccomended this sweet restaurant by locals. The decor is inviting and classy, the service wonderful and food was personalized and great. I had my first mint julep and loved every minute. Do not miss this lttle southern gem. Us two Canadians were wowed by the hospitality. Tell Catherine that Karen and Phil sent you.

Found Maxwell's on Open Table and took a chance on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is small on Jefferson Street - a bit of a walk from the river, but accessible by car or peddy-cab. The night we attended parking and traffic was a bit tricky since there was a large ball occurring in an adjacent square. We were seated... More

We went to Maxwell's for Valentine's Day during our first trip to Savannah. The selections we chose off the special Valentine's menu were superb. Our waiter, Steven, was a delight and very personable. Maxwell's came highly recommended by a close friend and we loved it as much as they did!

Went to Maxwell's on the recommendation of the idiot concierge from our hotel "It's perfect!". No, it was not perfect. In fact, it was pretty bad, considering the prices and the pretensions. Okay, there are some very nice things about Maxwell's: the decor is charming with low lights, fresh flowers and comfortable seating. Too bad the service is completely inept.... More

My husband and I and another couple had dinner at Maxwells last night - and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was one of the best we've had in Savannah in quite a while. The ambiance is extremely comfortable for downtown. Our server, Chris, was very nice and attentive even though our foursome talked and talked and talked. His... More

While a lovely place the buzz is not there and the food isnt special enough. Good for the older set as seems to b their clientele. Owner a bit nosy for our liking seems like she's listening in on your conversations. Need to step up their game with the prices they charge.

We stopped on for a drink and a nibble. Not worth the $45. Both drinks were watery and not well constructed. The tuna was iffy at best. We're pretty picky, but wouldn't go back.

My husband and I dined at Maxwell's last night during our Savannah vacation. I think everything about this elegant small restaurant was excellent. Our server, Jimmy, was a delight with spot on suggestions for both food and wine. When we complimented our experience the chef came to our table where we were able to express our appreciation personally. The price... More
