We went one evening just after opening at 5pm. Yes this place is VERY dark but you get used to it easily and we really liked it. They had old fashioned candles at the bar. I thought it was quite fun. We wanted to be silly so we ordered mint Julips. They were yummy but definitely expensive. Fun place to... More

No reservations are needed in this dimly lit basement. There was a wait for a table, so we thought we might sample their mixology at the bar. Oh dear, totally clueless. In order to mix a decent cocktail one must use a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Please do not put ice cubes in a glass and pour one ingredient... More

The Planters Tavern is in the basement of the Pink House. With no reservations needed, it's a wonderful alternative, serving the same food. Great atmosphere! Our favorite item was the BLT salad! Probably the best thing I've had in Savannah! With fried green tomato and apple smoked bacon it was an absolute home run! Heading back in June & will... More

One of the best places I've ever eaten. I love southern food and this place has it. Atmosphere is fantastic. There is no better spot to enjoy the most quintessentially southern city in America. Great for young and old alike.

We went for appetizers and drinks. I couldn't see what I was eating. The food was ok. It's expensive for the value. They were short on Chardonnay wine and asking 16 dollars a glass is too much for what you get at this bar. The blackened oysters were unique but I didn't care for them. Aside from that it was... We wanted to dine here for the romantic atmosphere and great piano entertainer (Diana) but heard that you couldn't make a reservation, so we opted to book a reservation at the Old Pink House upstairs. Both restaurants have the same menu & kitchen. We spoke to the host upstairs & she recommended we come early & have a drink downstairs... More

We stayed at Hampton Inn and pink house was only steps away. We arrived at 5:00 p.m. For dinner and asked to to the bar - this is Planter Tavern down stairs. It has low open beam ceilings with nice bar, two fireplaces, candles, small tables and couch and chairs with piano by fireplace. We sat at table for two... More

Low ceilings, dark wood, two fireplaces, tall tapers on every table--this is an intimate, romantic place to dine. More casual than The Olde Pink House Restaurant upstairs, this proved to be a cozy choice on a cold January Saturday night. Planter's opens at 5, and it does not take reservations, so there is a line waiting to get in, and... More

This is downstairs in The Old Pink House. So prefect for a cozy intimate dinner. The waitstaff is absolutely perfect. We took our waiter's suggestions and had the shrimp and grits, fried oysters, and BLT salad. Everything was great! The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. Be sure and walk around the house after dinner.
