Avoid the Chains - in nice independent choice

This is a nice, smaller, more intimate and quiet locale- just on the edge of the crazy inner Harbour hussle and bussle! Nice attentive but not intrusive service, food very good! I enjoyed the veggie carpaccio with beets- and the rock fish in parchment was nicely prepared and very fresh. The outdoor... read more

The service at LaTavola was excellent. We were not at all rushed and the courses were nicely paced. The food is excellent. We each started with a salad. The salads are not enormous so you are not stuffed before the main course arrives. The portion size on the entrees was good too. While business casual was the main mode of... More

My wife, niece, and I had a late lunch at the LA Tavola on Albemarle Street in Baltimore's "Little Italy". The food was very well presented, tasty, and the pasta "Aldente" as well as being homemade as goes for the Gnocchi. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and the service was very attentive without going overboard and smothering... More

Being fully accessible is not a given in Little Italy but this restaurant was. The food was good but they could not split the check and it took a long time for our group of 20 to settle up as a result. I requested a glass of a certain wine. They didn't have it available so the waiter didn't ask... More

We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. They make their own pastas and have many seasonal specials. We did not have dessert because we had one waiting back at our hotel (the 1840s Carollton Inn).

Real nice people, decor and menu. I had a nice (huge) penne with vegetables, friend had black spaghetti with crab I think, all of the dishes and dessert was out of this world tiramisu....one geezer must be a relative, he is always there filling water and being very very grumpy. Other than him, five stars!

My wife and I went for dinner. The dining room was about half full on a rainy Saturday night. Our waiter, Walter, was wonderful and knew the menu well. We had the fried seafood appetizer which was excellent and included some fried vegetables as well - a nice addition. My wife ordered a spaghetti and seafood special. It was very... More

Four of us went there for lunch on father's day. There were only a few people there at lunchtime. Two of us ordered Pollo Alla Parmigiana(Chicken breast / eggplant / mozzarella / tomato sauce Selezione di menu dello chef carlo) $22 higher that what the menu on trip advisor quotes, my wife ordered Penne Alla “Puttanesca” and a salad (separate... I enjoyed the ravioli tremendously. The service was polite and attentive. Food was fresh and light. Place did not have many people for a Sunday night, I think I might have found the best Italian restaurant that has yet to be discovered.

Food is only passable, but the prices are outlandish. I ordered 2 Caesar salads and the bill was $17.00. There wasn't any Caesar dressing on the salad, just a little bit of olive oil. The bread was excellent.
