OK, so it's not fancy, in any way, shape or form...and the food is OK...although in all honesty I have not tried many things other than the dogs, burgers, and fries...but the GRAVY FRIES are SINFUL! Service is friendly and pretty efficient. Neighborhood is a bit edgy, but hey, it's Baltimore. Try it! GB

I grew up in Baltimore at a time where quirkiness was the rule, not the exception. The decor and atmosphere go back to that time. Others have complained about the food. Granted, the food isn't gourmet, but don't go there for that. Go there for a friendly, nostalgic environment. This is not pretend retro--it's the real thing. Call it a... More

When you hear the terms "whole in the wall" or "greasy spoon" related to diner, this is it in person. I visited Baltimore for a weekend of DDD restaurants and a Super Bowl party, and the G & A Restaurant's Hot Dogs and French Fries with Gravy were on my list. I am a "hot dog" guy, and they were... This restaurant that was featured on Diner's, Drive-in's & Dive's would, in my estimation, be considered a real dive. it is situated in the Greek Town part of Baltimore, not the most upscale place in town, as you would imagine. Very narrow restaurant, hard to get two people side-by-side through it, and also not the cleanest place you'll ever experience.... More

The negative reviews here seem to miss the point of the restaurant. It's a greasy spoon dive, but a very GOOD one! We stopped for lunch on our way to an Oriole game. The decor is mid-1950's Formica. It is laid out like a typical row house eatery, long and narrow. They offer the usual variety of counter luncheonette fare:... More

Saw this place on Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. Not much on atmosphere but does a good job on hot dogs, sliders, & gravy fries. Waitresses call you hon. Actually a big menu, but we didn't sample the rest.

Help was very good, down to earth. Only thing I tried were the hot dogs. Dogs themselves didn't have a snap when I bit into them. Chili had no taste at all. Buns were actually hard on the ends. Dogs at the Lexington Street Market are much better. Other food looked to be good diner food. I'll try it again... More

We ate here (twice!) this past weekend while visiting Baltimore, and my mouth waters every time I think about the meals we had! My husband had the Coney Island hot dogs and I had the bacon cheeseburger both times. We also ordered gravy fries and regular fries. My husband raved about the hot dogs, and the burger was absolutely delicious... More
