A friend took my wife and I to the restaurant along with his wife as a surprise birthday present. The main notoriety of this establishment is Italian, however a host of other entrees are available. My friend has been there often and has known the owner for many years, so I'm sure that has something to do with my first... More

I took some customers out for dinner. The service was fabulous and the food was even better. We all got something different and ended up sharing because there was so much food and it was so great!

I remembred a meal I had over 20 years ago at Tio Pepe and wanted to go back. As we descended the steps to the maitre d's station I heard lots of grumbling that reservations were not being honored. Fortunately, we were a deuce and were shown to our table on time. The food- plated table side by the waiter... More

My last visit to Tio Pepe ended when my husband and I, kept waiting close to an hour past our reservation, walked out Tio Pepe's door and in the Prime Rib's (another venerable Baltimore institution). We didn't plan on ever going back but found ourselves there with friends Saturday night hoping to be seated sometime close to our 8:30 reservation.... More

Tio's can be a great experience, with some wonderfully prepared interesting food (like the suckling pig or roasted vegetables). Service was once excellent, but now is inconsistent. Waitstaff often does not guide customers well through the menu and table service is inconsistent. I think 'regulars' are treated well, but I worry at times about bringing new people here. I think... I made reservations in advance for my anniversary on Saturday, January 18th for 7:30. It has been awhile since I had been there but always remembered the restaurant fondly. The evening was ruined by the totally rude service from all but one of the wait staff. The waiter in the red jacket kept rolling his eyes when I was torn... More

From the garlic shrimp through to the nut roll cakes, everything here is done with care and expertise. The garlic shrimp sauce is the perfect foil for dunking the bread. Entrees arrive roasting hot. I had the rockfish with lump crab. Neither component overwhelmed the other. Sauces are the specialty here. Forget your diet! Even something as simple as artichoke... More

We were a group of 5, all familiar with Tio,s over the years .Some things seem to have changed though,,.The langostinos were the biggest disappointment, Where were the usual promised shells? The portions were huge, which might please some But we,ed rather a bit less and have the dish look more appealing, and not leave half uneaten. My veal was smothered... More

It has been a number of years since I've visited Tio Pepe's. It will not be that long, again. We had 7 at our table and each ordered something different. I had Suckling Pig in Segovia, Spain earlier this year and it didn't hold a candle to Tio Pepe's. Everyone at the table was more than happy, happy, happy.
