Baltimore classic worth a visit

Along with the Prime Rib, I guess Tio Pepe is one of the last of the Baltimore "classics" and for that reason alone worth a try. The grotto ambience is great as is the free flowing sangria. The service is old world like we don't often experience these days. The food is a three. Everything else... read more

We wanted an excellent experience for our special occasion but didn't get it. I should have taken the advice of other reviewers and spent our money elsewhere. Simply put the food was boring and overcooked. The dinning room unique but worn out carpet is just nasty. When we were finished eating we waited for our server for close to 30... More

This Restaurant years prior; was considered the Best in Baltimore! The drinks are strong, great appetizers and superb Spanish Cuisine. All entrees...pollo...fish...carne.. are top notch. Many of the servers have been there over twenty five years. Service is exceptional. Deserts are the best. Highly recommend reservations. Great for large groups or parties. A dress code is enforced!! You definitely will... More

This used to be our special place when we lived in Baltimore 30 years ago. Went back our meal was just like the old days. Magnificent in every way from the wait staff to the meal. Cannot say enough about the total experience. Not cheap but worth every penny!!!

On my first trip to Baltimore recently I overheard people talking about a restaurant they liked named Tio Pepe. It is only a four-block walk from the hotel where I stayed, so I decided to try it. Glad I did, for it was one of the most delightful and memorable restaurant experiences of my life. Entering the restaurant you go... More

For about 50 years Tio Pepe has been in the top 5 of Baltimore's Best. Others come and go but Tio's remains. To stand the test of time speaks volumes. Not much has changed over the years other than the prices. When you step down into the basement level entry it is as if you've entered another country. It feels... More

Interesting menu and very good food. Excellent sangria! Staff could be a tad friendlier, though service was fine. Would be happy to return.
