In the late 90s, we happened to stop in at Tio Pepe's on a whim. We fell in love with the paella and the sangria - and I went over the top with the Spanish coffee. Over the years, we've continued to return for this favorite of meals. However, when we're brave enough to miss our favs, we've ventured into... More

Excellent from start to finish. Snails prepared in classic fashion. Shrimp with garlic sauce excellent appetisor. Paella for 2 was enough food for 4 people's and nicely presented. Service was good. Red sangria was of high quality and one of the best sangrias that I've had, and reasonably priced. From out of area but will return again when in Baltimore.

Very old school charm. Very polite and good service. The lobster claws were amazing. They had a wonderful wine selection. Really enjoyed it and would go back again.

It is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. You are sure to have a great meal. Save room for dessert, you must try the pine nut cake.

i have never had a bad meal. I love to start off with the garlic shrimp. Oh so good. Then the Beef Wellington is amazing!!! To end the night I always get a Spanish Coffee. It's served table side. Strong but so good!

From the outside it looks like you are going to enter someones dingy basement. Looks can be deceiving because this was a huge restaurant! It is dimly lit for a great intimate setting and the servers were great! Try the Sangria!!!

First trip there after hearing the legend for decades living near Baltimore. Convenient location with easy street parking. Ambiance was OK, service was good, not great and the food was good, not great. Heavy, old style cooking you would expect from your grandparents favorite place.

Tio Pepe provides a classic, Spanish dining experience. The family restaurant is tucked away downstairs on East Franklin St, and is modeled after some of the older Spanish restaurants one would find in Madrid. In addition to paella (which was extremely tasty and had the most generous amount of seafood I've encountered in the DC/Baltimore area), Tio Pepe also offers... More

The portions are truly sinful and as we were staying in a hotel, we couldn't take a doggy bag. We dined with 4 other couples and we all agreed we could've ordered one dish and split it comfortably. We hoped the piles of our uneaten food would go to a homeless person rather than the garbage can. I had to... More

Tio Pepe's is our family favorite for special events and an amazing evening. This quaint restaurant is located in the basement of a row home and when you arrive, customers need to walk down steps to go inside. This all apart of the experience. The decor are white washed walls with exposed beams in the ceiling. You feel like you... More
