Mamas on the Half Shell is a classic, rich in architectural touches of a building that stood this restaurant's 2003 opening. Specializing in seafood, the lunch menu was varied, from crab cakes and soft shell crabs to burgers, clubs and salads. The server was attentive and he lunch was as pleasant as could be: I had the chef salad and my... More

Went for my wife's birthday. My dish was shrimp with pasta. It was just OK. Shrimp were a little fishy. My wife had tilapia broiled and was very good with mashed potatoes which were luke warm.her other side. Was spinach. Was too garlicky when we told our waitress Tara she said well its made to order. WHAT? No alternative was... More

While visiting my foodie best friend she described a list of restaurants to me. I loved the sound of this one. She said: Seafood. Awesome drinks. I said: Sold. We thought about reservations, but since it was a weeknight we headed over at about 7pm. It was packed, standing room only at the bar and waitress said it was a... More

I have been coming to Baltimore with my family now for almost 5-6 years, and we always take time to go to Mama's at least once, maybe twice if we have time. It is one of the better places to get solid seafood and other yummy treats with out well, it being a tourist place. I would not list it... More

came here on a saturday night...1 hour wait. the girl at the door was not friendly at all: bad first impression. our waitress was totally disoriented. did not bring us fork/knife, did not get us water, overall just very very distracted. the food was good but lacked that WOW factor that we were expecting. They automatically added an 18% gratuity... More

Had pan-seared halibut (a little over cooked). Hubby had soft shell crab which he enjoyed. Oyster Rockefeller had too much spinach. The place gets pretty noisy. Server was great-her name is Dawn. I think she only works on Thursdays. She is worth seeking out.

We Went because we read it was good. We had a great service, Food was great. Most of american Food is fried and i don't like that . Here you can chose steam, pan sear, broil. Seafood taste like seafood. Not a chewy mixture. I definetly Will go back if ever in Baltimore again.

Service and food were excellent. It does get quite a crowd in the evening. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner and all of our meals were quite good as well as plentiful.

I have not been searching for the gold standard of crab cakes but I think I have found it at Mama's on the Half Shell. Based on a local recommendation I decide to stop for lunch here the other day and boy am I glad I did. I ordered the crab cake platter with cole slaw and veggies and was... More

The oysters and raw-salmon steak sandwich were delicious! The service was pretty good but we almost walked out because of the LOUD atmosphere (8:20pm on a Sunday.) After placing our name on the waiting list at 8pm, we went to returned about 20 minutes later and were given the option of eating upstairs or downstairs. Downstairs there is a bar,... More
