We decided to try Chaps after reading TA reviews and seeing DDD on the Food Network. We wanted a place for lunch that the locals frequented. This place was great. Although located in an area that's not too great, it's worth the visit. The pit beef was excellent. The person taking the orders was friendly and patient and so welcoming.... More

After hearing so much about the best pit beef in the city, we felt compelled to try this place out. The beef was extremely tender with a nice char on the outside to give it a smoky flavor. The sandwiches definitely felt like they were missing something, however. There weren't really any other flavors from the sandwich besides the meatiness... More

I have always heard how good the Beef sandwiches were at this place but never stopped in. Today we did on the way out of the city. My sandwich was excellent. My wife got a Turkey Ruben and she loved it. Now I want to go back and try the ribs. wish I lived closer.

Great food, good prices, and a lot of fun. I ate the richwich which contained beef, turkey, sausage, and corned beef. It was awesome. Other than being in the parking lot of a strip club...

I was in Baltimore a few years ago, and I didn't realize what Chaps was known for, and I got the bbq pork, which was good. However, when I saw (and smelled) the pit beef, I told my family I absolutely had to have that on my next visit. Well, mission accomplished, and it was absolutely worth the wait! I... More

I had the roast beef sandwich and the ham sandwich. I added horseradish (which was very fresh and flavorful) to the beef and turned it into the best pit beef sandwich I have ever eaten. Due to the size of the sandwiches I took the ham sandwich home with me....where later that evening I added stoneground mustard and had another... More

My husband, 8 month old and I stopped here for lunch after visiting the B&O museum. The line moved quickly and we were able to get a seat easy. They even have a high chair for my son! I had the rachel and my husband had triple d both were tasty. We shared an order of macaroni & cheese and... More

On recommendation from the food network, i tried Chaps Pit Beef and I must say that they were spot on. One of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I tried the Adam Richmond (in honor of the man vs food star) and the meat was so tender that I barely had to chew. I will be coming back on... More

Took my son here after his Lacrosse game at Loyola (about 20 minutes drive.) For those unfamiliar with Pit Beef, it is Maryland's contribution to BBQ. Though the menu was pretty extensive, we went for the signature sandwich. Pit beef is pretty popular at Lacrosse tournaments (Maryland is big on the sport for some reason) so we have had this...
