Their sandwiches were large and delish. Will go again and again, even thou it is 30 miles from my house. The prices are reasonable, and the cashier was very friendly. I had the Habbit, my husband ordered something don't remember the name sausage and roast beef, I think, and he raved about it. Their fries I will never order again... More

Once again Triple D led us to a great place. BBQ was very good, beef was nice and tender. Had a great smoke flavour. Fries were fantastic. Service was very friendly too. Dinner for a family of 4 was under $30 with huge portions. Right next to the rippers which was kind of funny. Apparently January is "Midget Madness". Awesome

I cannot say whether there is better pit beef around -- this is the only place I have been in Baltimore, and that is because it is easy to get to it from the interstate. But we do enjoy stopping. Pit beef is not barbecue -- it is top round cooked over charcoal at high temperatures, sliced thin (medium rare... More

Thought I would give it a try because of all the hype and different TV shows that have been there. So the good. The meat was tender, there were a lot of options, and it was a honest to goodness BBQ dive. I ordered The Raven and it was large, with a lot of good meat on it. In fact... More

Everyone I know compare all other pit beef places to chaps , it really is that good. I feel that I am writing this for the people outside of the Baltimore area , because if you are from Baltimore you already know this !!!

Yes it's true, it's in the parking lot of a strip club. But the attraction here is probably better. I had the beef sandwich and it was great! Doesn't need any sauce at all. But I had to try some of their sauces and it was great too. Don't be thrown off by the parking lot thing. It's an actual... More

Yes, it really is in a strip club parking lot. Thankfully, it was closed when I went there! Between that and the surrounding rather seedy-looking "community" (besides that strip club, there are others that you'll pass nearby, with an adult video store across the street. And, as I was leaving the area, Baltimore Police had a couple of blocks of... More

I make the trip from DC to NYC and back all the time. This is my pit stop EVERY time. Heck it's my stop whenever I am remotely close. Seriously the best pit beef sandwich I've ever had. Don't let the strip club scare you off. You won't want to miss this. I've tried (and love) most every sandwich they... More

Pit Beef is a Baltimore tradition and Chaps certainly does it justice. The food is straightforward and delicious. Don't expect atmosphere, but do count on beef cooked just right and smoked sausages with a nice crackle to the casing.
