Excellent choice for dinner in Mount Vernon area

The Mount Vernon area of Baltimore is a center of culture, music, theatre, and the arts, and Sascha's reflects all of that very well. It's within an easy walk of CenterStage, and we had dinner there before a show. We had a 6:30PM reservation before an 8PM curtain at CenterStage, and it was our... read more

Sascha's is a trendy little bistro, self-consciously arty, in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. While we enjoyed our dinner, we found the food to be good but not great, with each course of varying quality. The service on Valentine's Day was slow, but I guess that is not uncommon on such a day. We ordered from the special Valentine's... More

The set up can be a little confusing at lunch - the regulars seem to know how to order and get their food, but eventually everyone gets fed! The hot dog special was messy but good. My friend always gets a chopped salad, which seems like a healthier option! It can get busy but on slow days no one will... More

This is my favorite restaurant for an intimate dinner with a close friend or relation. Beautiful restaurant in a great building, a great combination of old and new… The service is impeccable and the many is not too big, but uniformly delicious… Never had a meal that was not excellent there…

My boyfriend and I hardly have dinner out during the week, but Thursday was an exception. We had such a nice time here! The atmosphere was perfect. It wasn't crowded at all and we didn't have to wait for a seat. It was cozy and the music was spot on. It is much bigger than I thought. I would want... More

After walking around Mount Vernon on a warm spring evening, my friends and I were hungry and looking to grab dinner nearby. After walking down Charles Street for a few blocks, we spotted Sascha's 527 Cafe. We took a quick look at the menu and decided this was the place for us. The menu is divided into four main sections... More

Sasha's salad, well dressed. Eggplant lasagna had a very good, spicy sauce and very tasty overall. Could use more eggplant, though.

Great chopped salads which are huge and you customize. Their roast beef panini wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. Good value for the lunch specials. Staff were very helpful and explained how you had to chose the salad ingredients. Very convenient to Peabody and Basilica.

Went during "restaurant week", when local restaurants offer a prix fixe menu that is supposed to show their cooking to best advantage. Sigh... Dishes ordered (among 4 people) were: Polenta (really a salad w/polenta cubes for croutons), shrimp w/grits, short ribs, filet mignon, cioppino over tagliatelle, salted caramel budino, carrot cupcake, chocolate three ways, "fresh" fruit tart (made with lemon... Had a great dinner here on our way to a show at Center Stage. Sascha's was recommended by a person on the Charm City Circulator who saw us looking at a map. So glad they did. My husband and I both had the lobster bisque and it was wonderful....BIG chunks of lobster and great taste. We opted for the smaller... More
