We had a wonderful family dinner at La Scala. The menu has an amazing variety of Italian dishes and the wine list had excellent choices. Our waiter Nelson was superb, with expert knowledge of the dishes and the most appropriate wines. Everything we had was...wonderfully tasty and exquisitely prepared. Garlic shrimp over linguine, veal Marsala and I found the veal saltimbocca the best I’ve tasted outside of Rome. The desserts were also wonderful….lemon sorbet, pineapple sorbet served in a pineapple as well as heavenly Tiramisu. We wish we lived closer to B’more to try the rest of the menu.More

So fabulous. While having a cocktail near the water our server over heard us discussing dinner at a restaurant other than La Scala. We asked her if it was good? She replied….. “ the best is La Scala” We called and got a reservation! IT...WAS TRULY SOOOO GOOD,More

We had a large family gathering for a college graduation dinner. LaScala accommodated us on a Wednesday night and the food was amazing. Our waitress was excellent (sadly I forgot her name) the chef greeted himself to us, and Santa paid a visit. The night...was wonderful and I will recommend them all the time. I had the Samantha Fettuccine with Shrimp added, the other dishes we had was the Gnocchi with Shrimp and Chicken, Fettuccini with crab, and shrimp in white cream sauce, lobster and steak, Spinach Fettuccini with Vodka Sauce with chicken and medium spicy. Drinks were excellent as well.More

My family wanted to take me here as they said it was one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. The service, especially the bartender was not really interested or engaged. The food was okay, but for those that cook, you are better off making it...yourself. The ambience was disappointing. We all said we would not go back.Very average.More

We are Italians living in Baltimore. Now and then we try an Italian restaurant. This one is too americanized. Generous portions stuffed with garlic that we use quite parsimoniously in our country. Lots of herbs and spices to stimulate the dull palate of their clientele....The wine choice is unimpressive. I had a good fish, but nothing that you can't get everywhere in Fells Point. Overpriced. Not coming back.More

Just a great dinner! If you’re in the mood for some great Italian cuisine, this is a must if you’re visiting Baltimore! Portions and price are very fair.

Our prior visit to La Scala was five years ago. Took us a little longer to get back than we had hoped. Just like the first time, it did not disappoint. Once again, we got to enjoy some bocce ball at the indoor court before,...and after our meal. Traffic at the inner harbor caused us to be 30 minutes late for our reservation. They seated us right away but unfortunately only had a table upstairs, which is a much louder experience than downstairs. I prefer to be sitting right over the bocce ball court. It was extremely loud. Food, as expected, was excellent. However, our appetizers came out rather quickly, but then we waited over an hour for our entrees. At that point, we were hardly hungry. They had a huge party going on at night, and the staff was going 100mph all night. Lastly, Chef Nino is the best. I came all the way downstairs after dinner to say hello to us at the bocce ball court. Always a gentleman, and I can’t wait to go back to Baltimore for another great dinner from he and his team.More

Wonderful authentic quality food! We ate here on recommendations from two locals. Our food was high quality with generous portions. Tony provided great service. I had a charred caesar salad and the veal parmigiana. We sat on the patio. Overall a wonderful experience. I would...highly recommend!More

It was okay as an Italian restaurant in Baltimore, even though it didn't particularly impress me. My husband and I ordered a crab soup and shared a whole branzino, served with pasta with tomato sauce as a side dish. The fish was tasty and well-cooked,...but to our taste, the pasta seemed overcooked and rather bland. Waiting times have been a bit high - which did not come entirely unexpected for a baked fish. Still, if we had known in advance, we would have opted for more appetizers while waiting for the main course. I expected a more friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which I could not find there, even though our waiter was kind. We would have loved the chef (and owner) to visit our table at some point, but he seemed busier with other customers, so we didn't have the chance to meet him in person.More

We came here for my boyfriends birthday. Very average Italian food and below average service in Little Italy. Drinks were good, though, I will say. I so badly wanted this to be a good experience! Our server could have been more attentive from beginning to...end. She forgot to bring bread to the table until I asked for it after our appetizer had already come out. She removed my boyfriends empty drink from the table quickly when our entrees arrived, but didn’t bother to come back or ask if he wanted another drink or if our entrees came out okay. She mis charged our bill with an extra entree we didn’t order - thank god I checked! I am never really one to complain, and I was a server for many years myself, but we probably won’t be back.More

Really great Italian food. We came early without a reservation and were seated with no problems, but I would suggest making a reservation if you were coming at a busier time. Good service, and a menu with very wide selection to choose from.

This made our Baltimore trip! We would come back just to go to this restaurant! We ended up sitting at the bar,(something I normally don’t like to do) and it was a fortunate happenstance. We ended up sitting with some regular customers and had a...blast, everyone was so friendly and it was like being among family. Nino the owner brought our meals out and they were superb! From the appetizers to desert everything was impeccable! The bartender Boulot was SO fun and attentive (we never had an empty glass). The cannoli (hand made by Nino’s mom) was Terrific. When we get back to Baltimore this will be one of the first places we stop.More

I was looking for an authentic Italian restaurant for my children to experience hand made pasta. I called ahead and made reservations for six. Unfortunately our hotel room wasn’t ready so we were late for our reservations. I called and they said ‘come on in’....We hurried over! The kids are between 7-14. They all had Shirley temples to drink. We started off with the Burrata Appetizer which just melted in your mouth. For dinner three kids had half portions of Fettuccine Alfredo, one had chicken parmigiana, one had shrimp scampi and I had the chefs special, which was lobster/crab in a blush sauce over penne. The best review is there were no leftovers!! Everyone loved their meals and my son ate his and half of mine! We did have a wee bit of room for dessert so I ordered two orders of the cream puffs. Each order has three and one each was the perfect ending to a delicious dinner. Special thanks to Chef Nino, who stopped by twice to chat with everyone.More
