Definitely a "destination restaurant" meaning if you spend time in Baltimore you HAVE to come here just to say you did. The menu boasts an array of comfort foods like "Mom's meatloaf," grilled cheese, chili and turkey dinner complete with stuffing and cranberry sauce as well as the typical burgers and crab cakes. If you're looking for uninspired food, this... More

Best seafood in Maryland. I'd eat there again. The service was great, and the environment was fun. All six people we ate with enjoyed their dish.

Thanks for such kind words! We strive to provide only the best seafood available, using fresh local crabmeat and oysters, in season. Our servers are a great bunch, and many have been here for over 5 years, and one has been here for over 20 years! We do hope you will come visit us again soon! More

Visited here as I was visiting a friend in the local area and she insisted we try it as it had been on TV. Thought it was a really nice place! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was reasonably priced and nice. I had lasagne, wished there was more of it though! We had a good experience here... More

I can identify the giant pink flamingo outside of Cafe Hon in Hampden as one of the city's icons, however Cafe Hon was always one of those spots I avoided like the plague. I hadn't heard any great reviews about the place (they were on Kitchen Nightmares) and it just seemed like a tourist trap. My roommate had recently eaten... More

my kids and I had a great meal here and the staff was very nice, helpful and pleasant. the crap dip appetizer was delicious although it did not come with enough bread and we had to ask for more. the crap cake entrée was delicious, all crab almost no filler.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We are proud of our crab cakes, as we make them with all Maryland crabmeat and very little filler. We enjoy seeing families come out and spend time together, and we are happy you chose to do that at Cafe Hon! More

My husband and I eat at Inner Harbor a lot- Bubba Gumps, Hard Rock Cafe, Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs so after seeing Cafe Hon on Restaurant Nightmares- we decided to give it a try. It is a quaint area with lots of cute shops and it was great not to pay for parking while in Baltimore. Sometimes we spend just... More

Talk about a fun place. Besides the food being good with nice portions, this cafe on the main street with other shops and cafe's this has a full sized Elvis Presley in stance as you enter, also a pink flamingo above the door and lots of cheetah printed booths as well as the ladies room walls. There's also a vintage... More

Supporting local business is a fun way to see a town. Someone had recommended this place so my friend and I went to see what the buzz was about. The decor is kitschy and all about Baltimore which is kinda fun. Breakfast was decent. Pancakes were good, and bacon was perfectly done; the eggs were just "meh". It was busy... More

I get to Hampden once a year when my band plays at HonFest, and since Cafe Hon is close to the stage area, I often go there afterwards for a post-gig dinner. It was pretty full when I got there, so service wasn't lickety split, but considering how busy they were, and that I was seated all the way at... More

Thank you for writing such wonderful things about our desserts. We do make all of our cakes and pies here, from scratch, which includes hand rolling out the pie dough. We even make our hot fudge topping, caramel sauce and brownies. HonFest was the first time our cooks had done roast beef, and I am sorry it was not top... More

You get to a point where you DO NOT want to chain restaurants. You want to experience something unique to the area. Went there after a cousin graduated. The owner and wait staff attended to all our requests for a larger party. Food was excellent. Crabcakes are great!
