Decent food, interesting decor

I recently tried the food here for the first time while attending weekly trivia in the side bar. The food is standard comfort food fare. The food is good but nothing too exciting. I won't hesitate to order something if I'm here.

We had dinner prior to seeing the lights on 34th. You can skip this place! The service was terrible and the food was just average. Too expensive, too slow and wait staff just plain rude. We had a large party of 12, and not one person enjoyed their experience.

Went with family to Cafe Hon for dinner prior to seeing the 34th Street lights. Food was very tasty, I had the new roast beef which I would definitely recommend. Wife had crab cake and son the burger, and both enjoyed their meals. Food came out a little slowly, but not a big deal, as the server was very attentive.... More

Great space that lends it's building, name and general menu to old time baltimore, beehives and the old fashioned ice cream parlor. For a while it was simply making it by being a cool looking spot in a neighborhood starving for a quick meal. But now, as competition in Hampden has increased, so have the quality and experience at CH.... More

We had dinner here before strolling down to the Miracle on 34th Street to see the Christmas lights. It's our 1st time here after hearing about this place for years! Very eclectic starting with the huge flamingo out front on the building and local. Large bar area and diner feel on the dining side. Very casual. The Bawlmer Wings were... More

Baltimore at maybe, not its best, but interesting. Stick to salads (fresh) and sandwiches(Tasty). Prices are reasonable and other customers very Balmorean.

Cafe Hon is a fun place to eat nestled in the eccentric neighborhood of Hampden. The food is American fare complete with hamburgers, homemade pies and delicious milkshakes. Cafe Hon is set up as an old fashioned malt shop with booths, counter seating and local sports jerseys and pictures. Outside of the restaurant, there are two pink flamingoes that adorn... More

Our daughter and her fiancé who recently moved in the area brought me and my husband to Café Hon for a quick bite on early Saturday afternoon. We had a reservation for dinner at another restaurant that evening and didn’t want anything big but we hadn’t had breakfast or lunch so we ended up ordering good size lunch. I have... More

I have dined at this place many times and I have never been disappointed. The menu offerings are limited, but everything is good. I suggest that you save room for dessert...grandma's kitchen type cakes and pies...also shakes and of course malts. It's Baltimore Hon so of course crab cakes...if you are from out of town, but this in your must... More

Thanks, many thanks! We apologize that our response was so delayed. We do strive to serve only the freshest food, making the usual fare unusually delicious. It does mean our menu is smaller than some other places, but everything is home made with only the freshest ingredients. Thank you for your continued patronage! More
