Brunch bonanza

Hot spot for lunch! Large setting with plenty of seating including outdoor seating. Did see some panhandlers bothering patrons FYI. The latte's we ordered were professionally made and tasted as good as the top coffee bars. Good foam, balanced espresso, light vanilla flavor. Delicious. Also... read more

Awesome brunch. Been there several times and only had one bad dish. But that's because nobody knows how to cook eats over well without breaking the yolk.

I ate brunch here a few weeks back with a group of friends. The food was great, the drinks were great, and everyone at the table really enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the lamb burger which was fantastic. They even give complementary cinnamon rolls as appetizers. My only disappointment was that I had hoped for a table outside, but instead... More

Excellent food, local ingredients. We ate here twice, once for dinner where we had the Restaurant Week tasting menu. Everything was very fresh. We also had brunch where there were the usual standards, along with local specialties like Maryland crab cakes. They also have an extensive bar and draft beers.

Their menu is phenomenal. I crave the crab topped fried green tomatoes...they must never take it off the menu!

Nice outside tables, cinnamon rolls as appetizer, nice touch. Good coffee. Had the angry shrimp omelet. Great for breakfast in Mt. Vernon neighborhood.

Needed a quick meal last night. City Cafe's menu has so many delights that it actually takes some time to choose. Nevertheless . . . an appetizer of small heirloom tomatoes, delicately seasoned and artfully positioned atop a bed of whipped buratta (a premium Italian cheese) was so good that I was left wanting more even though the portion was... One of my all time favorite "Date night" staples in Baltimore. I have been a federal hill resident for about 5 years and my wife and I love this place. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, the drinks are great. It used to be one of the best kept secrets in mount Vernon... the secret's out!

We spend ten days in Baltimore annually and discovered this place at the end of our trip last year. This year I think we ate there four or five times between dinner, lunch and brunch. Such a cool place. The wait staff is young, well trained and exceedingly friendly. The food is so creative and eclectic with tasty dishes that... More
