A Reliably Good Meal Every Time

I have taken many out of town guest to this restaurant and they all have come away satisfied. There is a diverse menu with enough seafood and seasonal items.

Everything we had for dinner was so good that we returned for breakfast. Baltimore inspired Crab Cake Eggs Benedict - delicious!

Good food, but it has gone upscale and is rather pricey. If you remember a time when you could stop in for coffee, don't try it now. All table service and there is an expectation of ordering food. Which is fine, because it's good food. Really. If you have the money and want to eat.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughter's graduation from College. At first I was worried it might be trendy & overpriced but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent service we received. We really appreciated being seated on the upper level where there is a great view of the City. There is also banquet... More

I try hard to like city cafe. The new restaurant layout is great. The beer menu has improved. But the food is still just so-so. Yesterday I had fish tacos. The fish was clearly cooked much earlier and just placed on the plate. It was cold, chewy and bland. My colleague had a pasta, also over cooked. They also now... More

We were a little hesitant when friends suggested downtown for din after the Preakness, but we went with the flow. City Cafe is not easy to find with your GPS. We call our Shirley because she is surely right. This time it was a left rather than a right. Had to wait a while at the bar for our table.... More

You can go out for a meal, or you can dine. Here we dined! Every bite of every meal was absolute perfection. Our server, Dani, was professionally attentive, and knew the menu well. No one was disappointed with her suggestions. We were even fortunate enough to meet their gifted chef, Michael. Our party of five was out for a birthday... More

I had lunch at the City Cafe with two other people. For three lunch entrees, one order of fries and three regular coffees, we spent $60 before the tip. The service was excellent, but that is about the best thing I can say. This was a very expensive and mediocre lunch. The two other diners ordered the grilled cheese and... More

My friend I enjoyed a delightful brunch here. Love the clean lines and many little nooks for seating. Smartly we arrived at 10:30. It became crowded by 11:15. The server was polite, attentive without driving us crazy and the coffee good and plentiful. Never rushed, I knew it was going to be good when they asked degree of poach on... More

We had not been at the Café prior to this visit, but after this first visit it was obvious we will have to return. Both my wife and I had a hamburger which ranked as one of the best I have tasted. She agreed. The menu was extensive with one item looking as appealing as the next including the breakfast... More
