We visited early in the evening before a performance at the Hippodrome. The food was very good, but our waiter (Patrick) really made it into a great experience. He provided us with detailed explanations of the menu and in the end we went with his awesome recommendations. We will be looking for an excuse to visit again next time we're... More

This is a 5 star restaurant, from the time you enter untill the valet gets the car for you. My second time and it did not disappoint. Alex E was wonderful. He suggested a fabulous wine to go with our meal. We stared with Cozze Saltate...mussels with curry and coconut milk and Prosciutto DOP.....a parmesan bread basket filled with salad... More

As good as they come in Baltimore. Food was 10/10. Service was great. The squid ink spaghetti was heavenly. Everything was presented well and the food was delicious. Will definitely come back after my next paycheck!

Sotto Sopra is a small, charming restaurant in downtown Baltimore. I took my boyfriend to this restaurant for his birthday, and it did not disappoint. Although I made a reservation, our table was not ready when we arrived. However, the restaurant graciously paid for our first round of drinks at the bar while we waited. The vibe of the restaurant... Restaurant is cozy with great ambiance ... Cute bar to drink at while you are waiting for a reservation. The Signature Sotta Sopra cocktail is worth trying. Our waitress was very sweet and the hostess was wonderful. We both had pasta entrees and they have probably ruined us forever because they were so unbelievably good! The pasta bolognese was the... When my husband and I started dating 16 years ago, this was one of our first dates. When we lived in Baltimore City, we used to dine here often and were never ever disappointed. We also dined there the night we were engaged. We have since had several children and moved to the 'burbs. We just celebrated our 13th anniversary... More

We are from the NYC area and go to many different Italian restaurants and generally struggle when we are away to find a good meal. This restaurant from the ambience to the service to the food was phenomenal and rivaled my faves in Manhattan. The pastas and appetizers that we had were to die for and the wine was delicious.... Small restaurant - thank god for valet parking. Great menu and wine list , all 6 of us had different meals and each was pleased with the quality, quantity and price. Service was excellent - we can see why it was highly ranked in Baltimore.

Traditional upscale Italian dining with an opera theme. Business casual attire seemed to be the order. Wonderful food with an excellent friendly staff. Interesting décor with a dramatic and romantic atmosphere.

We went to Sotto Sopra for the first time to celebrate my birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. The location, ambience, service, and food was really excellent. There is street parking available and they also have valet. We had the fried polenta and arugla/beat/goat cheese salad and I don't think I have ever had better polenta! And their bread... More
