“One of the best Italian restaurants in America” / "The wine list at Aldo's is exemplary, easily one of the best on the east coast” / “This is clearly a labor of familial love, and it shows in every dish" -- John Mariani (of Esquire Magazine), 2012 Aldo’s is Baltimore’s most celebrated Italian restaurant. Aldo's features Chef/Owner Aldo Vitale's delicately balanced southern-influenced regional Italian cuisine, served in sumptuously appointed rooms steeped in classical Italian tradition. Private dining rooms include a belowground, climate-controlled Wine Cellar and a Medici-inspired Library. Earlier this week I hosted a business dinner in the wine cellar room downstairs at Aldo's. The room was perfect for us because we had lively conversation and could carry on down there without disrupting any other guests upstairs. Our server Ken was attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. The food was outstanding. The best appetizer by far was the shrimp scampi... More

Aldo's, family owned and operated, has the charm of an old style Italian restaurant and fabulous cuisine. Going out the dinner should be a fancy, elegant experience and Aldo's provides that and more.

Aldos is an exceptional experience. The decor is stunning, similar to some of the finest European restaurants, and the food is absoutely exceptional. I had the Wild Boar and house-made Papardelle noodles. It was delcious. One of my friends had the Veal Francais which was outstanding. The other had the lamb chops. I have honestly, never seen such a delicious... More

Nothing like great service to compliment the fantastic food. We were a party of five each trying different pasta , seafood and meat dishes. Wine was poured promptly and consistently . Wait staff has it together !

Aldo's is a splendid place to stop while you're visiting little Italy. It's dinning atmosphere is elegant. It is a wonderful place for a romantic dinner in Little Italy. My suggestions would be the beef carpaccio or the seared Hudson Valley from Foie Gras, for you appetizer. Have a wonderful selection of salads as well as a couple of soups... More

In the middle of Little Italy in Baltimore is the best Italian restaurant we've been to, and there is scarcely a pasta dish on the menu. My brother-in-law (Italian) found it and takes only his favorite friends and relatives there. It's on the pricey side and all ala carte...most entrees under $30...but the service and staff are wonderful, the small... More

Excellent Italian food is no longer a rarity in the U.S. Aldo's which was once a standout has failed to keep up with the new generation of Italian restaurants. The food is a bit heavy handed and lacks the delicacy of fine cuisine. Personally nostalgia is not a sufficient reason to return to this restaurant

Bright peach colored interior with white trim and white columns dividing the eating rooms. Beautiful chandeliers throughout. Very soft soothing music to dine to. White table cloths underneath the polished silverware. With the ambience came appetizers of fried mozzarella ball on top of bolognese meat sauce. Very unique and tasty. The spinach salad was very fresh and not bitter, with... More

For a restaurant that tries to position itself as a "Fine Dinning" establishment, this was let down. The stab at formality floundered as Maitre'd, server, and back waiter tripped over themselves while failing to execute even BASIC service etiquette. Empty drink glasses on the table throughout service, plates passed via the guests to patrons not seated where the server could... More
