Description: “One of the best Italian restaurants in America” / "The wine list at Aldo's is exemplary, easily one of the best on the east coast” / “This is clearly a labor of familial love, and it shows in every dish" -- John Mariani (of Esquire Magazine), 2012 Aldo’s is Baltimore’s most celebrated Italian restaurant. Aldo's features Chef/Owner Aldo Vitale's delicately balanced southern-influenced regional Italian cuisine, served in sumptuously appointed rooms steeped in classical Italian tradition. The media rave about Aldo's, calling it "An Italian Masterpiece" (NY Times) and have recognized Aldo's for offering Maryland's "Best Private Dining" (The Baltimore Sun) and "Baltimore's Best Private Dining Rooms" (Baltimore Magazine). Private dining rooms include a belowground, climate-controlled Wine Cellar and a Medici-inspired Library. Superlative experience. As good as any restaurant I've experienced in Italy. I would travel to Baltimore just to eat at Aldo's.

Had dinner with my husband here on a week night while in Baltimore for a few days. We were first seated in the "atrium," but it was very cold so we asked to move. The staff very nicely accommodated us and moved us to a much warmer room with no draft right on us. A good start. Nice service continued... More

OK so I was lucky enough to catch the special Baltimore price deal but for $30 prix fixe I got tuna carpaccio on what seemed to be some sort of polenta chapati, a beautifully cooked piece of steak and a deconstructed limoncello cheesecake. I eat out regularly in the top London restaurants and this compared easily - well balanced, presented... More

Our table for two was under the Atrium. A little tight, but ok. The food was very good, but not spectacular for the price. Wine was delicious but at $14 per glass, it should have been. The wait staff was outstanding.

Overall it was excellent. Be warned that if they are busy, it may be noisy due to acoustics. We waited too long for our first drink order, but the house Chianti was excellent. Bread was freshly baked and was perfect with the olive oil. Started off with the lobster infused risotto, very good, the baby lobster tail was so tender!... More

Not the price level most would pay for a meal out, but the food is excellent, the staff professional, overall a wonderful experience. We had asked for a table that would allow for quiet conversation, and we were provided a table in a small room which fit the bill. Victor was an excellent server, a great experience.

Fascinating that this place keeps getting a best of Baltimore vote. Some of the most mediocre Italian I have ever had outside of Europe. Crunchy risotto for a starter and mushy fettuccine for main. On the other hand, staff is lovely.

Aldo's is a local favorite with a well deserved reputation as being the best Italian restaurant in Baltimore for many years. Sadly, my first visit to Aldo's since a successful office holiday party was a disappointment. Already top end prices have been jacked up 20% which is bad enough but to combine this increase with a move to all a... More

Outstanding Italian cuisine. Sauces are made the old-fashioned way, sweetened with carrots not sugar and slow cooked to preserve flavor. Veal Osso Buco won national awards on Food Network and is incredible. Everything is fantastic, including the wine list.. and ask for any homemade desserts.

From the appetizer to the tiramisu and the homemade complimentary glass of lemon cello ,this is by far the best italien food I have ever eaten. The linguine with clams was not gritty and there wasn,t a lot of oil in the bottom of the plate. They make their own pasta. The tiramisu melted in your mouth. We met the... More
