Description: “One of the best Italian restaurants in America” / "The wine list at Aldo's is exemplary, easily one of the best on the east coast” / “This is clearly a labor of familial love, and it shows in every dish" -- John Mariani (of Esquire Magazine), 2012 Aldo’s is Baltimore’s most celebrated Italian restaurant. Aldo's features Chef/Owner Aldo Vitale's delicately balanced southern-influenced regional Italian cuisine, served in sumptuously appointed rooms steeped in classical Italian tradition. The media rave about Aldo's, calling it "An Italian Masterpiece" (NY Times) and have recognized Aldo's for offering Maryland's "Best Private Dining" (The Baltimore Sun) and "Baltimore's Best Private Dining Rooms" (Baltimore Magazine). Private dining rooms include a belowground, climate-controlled Wine Cellar and a Medici-inspired Library. This was my first Christmas Eve not to be home cooking the Feast of the Fishes for my family. It was also our first time at Aldo's and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We took a short taxi ride from our Harborplace Hotel to Little Italy. Aldo's looks small from the outside, but has room after room of areas to dine,... More

We were in on a quiet Tuesday evening early (6:00), so it wasn't very crowded. The waiter was very attentive and the service was great. Not too quick and not too slow. I like not getting rushed out the door. Everything from the bread and olive oil to the salads to the sea bass and the veal piccata were excellent.... More

One of my top places to go in Baltimore. First came here for restaurant week and the food was delicious! The steak was perfectly cooked. Service was impeccable and awesome ambience.

Went to Aldo's for a romantic night out with my wife (no kids today!). The restaurant had a lot of Christmas parties/groups going on, but we were given a small table out of the way that was nice and quiet, which was wonderful (until we were just beginning our dessert and then a large, loud, party came in near us;... The food was over all very good. The service however was poor in the extreme. A completely indifferent waiter with no warmth or conversational skills typical of a place that has developed a deep sense of self importance and pretentiousness. Interminable waits between courses dominated by being ignored by our waiter. Appetizer plates cleared off only after they plopped down... More

We recently visited Aldo's in Baltimore on a special occasion. We had a reservation for Saturday evening for dinner for 5 adults. It had been awhile since we had gone to Aldo's and we expected the same excellent food and superb service that we enjoyed when we last were there a few years ago. Unfortunately, this was not the case.... More

To start with the positives -- nice décor and some strong dishes, particularly two specials -- excellent branzino as well as wild boar. Ossobuco good but not outstanding. Other appetizers and main courses all fine but fairly standard for a high-end Italian restaurant. That said, food alone would warrant a "good" rating. And the Tuscan wine was reasonably priced and... I am a college student and my mom and a friend of the family's came down for my university's family weekend this October. We walk in for our reservation right on time. We all notice everyone is dressed a bit more like they had just come from the office. The three of us we still dressed rather nicely, nice shoes,... More

Aldo's owner, managers and staff worked together as a cohesive unit to bring months of planning together to make our wedding day one to remember for a lifetime. The decor was perfect for the occasion, the musicians were excellent, the wait staff provided exceptional service to the guests, the menu had the right balance of traditional Italian cuisine and specialty... I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant last weekend. I was there with a large group and they were more than accommodating. We started with drinks in the bar area the front of the restaurant, and the waitress was friendly and engaging. They offer lots of interesting an excellent wine and spirit choices. As for the restaurant itself we... More
