Old school place with a lot of character. Small and easy to miss. Make sure you don't! The crab pizza may be the best pizza I've ever had. I'm looking forward to going back.

Located close to Patterson Park, you almost miss this store-front restaurant if you don't look closely. It is nicely decorated but definitely NOT FANCY. It is a locals type italian pizzeria. The pizza only come in two deep-dish styles -- 8" & 10". Their signature pizza is the Crab Pizza which comes ONLY in 10". They do have other items... More

I used to live nearby, and decided to stop in on a recent visit back in the area. Matthew's hasn't changed much in the past 25 years, but something happened to the pizza. What used to taste fresh and different Wuthering fresh cheese and chunks of tomatoes now comes out overdone and almost burnt tasting. Crust was great as usual,... More

There's a reason they're always at the top. You can't beat their pizza, been around for decades. Graded parmesan is my favorite.

My go-to when I am craving pizza. Fresh, unique, and delicious. The only thing that could improve my review would be if they delivered.

We went to Matthew's on a Tuesday at lunch. Very small place, but plenty of tables. We had two toddlers and they were very accommodating and even brought out some elephant ears for the boys to eat (which were delicious too by the way). We just had two pizzas, a mozzarella/meatball and my pick, the two cheese, mozzarella/grated parmesan. I... More

I would have to say it's one of Baltimore's better pizza joints, but average at best if you've been to Brooklyn, NY. Matthew's pizza is thick crust and personal size; made to order. While the crust is crispy and tender the cheese leaves a lot to be desired. Service is top notch and polite. If your in the neighborhood stop... More

The pizza was pretty good but, in my opinion, nothing overly spectacular.. The price was also high for a large pizza that was a lot smaller than a normal medium. I'd rather take my $10 and go to Papa John's..

Although we only got take-out at this restaurant, the crab pizza deserves comment. It is a true Baltimore dish and although we were dubious at first about trying it, it was delicious! The pizza is well made, with a lovely, crispy crust. Would definitely eat here again.

This is my second favorite pizza place thus far in Baltimore. I've had all those Chicago-style and New York-style pizzas. This is neither, but it really makes my taste buds go wild. I would describe their pizza as a mix of the two styles. It's crispy and personalized, yet thick and filling. Their pizza topic/specialty selections may be smaller than... More
