I've lived in Baltimore my entire life and managed to miss out on this Baltimore icon. After my brother prompted me to try this local pizzeria, I was upset that I had not tried it sooner. Pizza and french fries are two of my favorite foods and Matthew's totally lives up to the reviews! They are a bit expensive, but you'll find that it's totally worth it! My favorite dishes are the 3 cheese, Margherita, and the meatballs! The interior has maybe 8-10 tables so it's not huge, but whether or you dine in or take... More

A little more than a year ago I did a websearch for the best pizza in Baltimore. One place consistantly came up, Matthew's. So we decided to give it a try. We have been back several times since then and that's with a 30 minute drive from the Parkville area in northeast Baltimore. The pizzas are absolutely delicious. A crunchy... More

We ordered take out from Matthew's Pizzeria for the first time based on rave reviews from friends. We found the menu to be rather limited in terms of pre-defined pizza selections. There are endless possibilities in terms of building a pizza and that's where it just seemed expensive. We tried to just pare down the Everything Pizza and were told... More

Matthews Pizza is consistently delicious. The unpretentious, old-Baltimore feeling with a friendly wait staff and crew make you feel welcome from the minute you enter.I first came here as a teenager. The recipe and vibe remain the same, kind of nice. I prefer a 10" mushroom and black olive with a mixture of mozzarella and parmesan. Crust is light and... More

Matthew's Pizza has been a favorite of mine for years. It is a great little pizza place right in Eastern Avenue. You can even take home frozen pizzas to make at home.

Matthew's has been a Baltimore favorite for a long time, and you will probably sense it's age from the decor. They serve pizza that has have a very thick crust, and can seem just a tad greasy at times, piled with delicious sauce and a great cheese blend. The sizes are probably small compared to what others are used to,... More

Very good pizza indeed, but have had better ones. The most important feature is the crust that is crunchy but NOT greasy. The staff very attentive and polite.

OK, as you pull up to this place, you know you are taking a trip back in time. This is a pizza place that your parents and even grandparents could have visited and you get that feel from the moment you walk up to the venue with it above street level seating and it bold neon signage. Don't let that... More

Got take out tonight. Ordered a 'large' pizza, was supposed to be white with chicken and broccoli but somehow sauce was on it. The pizza was decent if you're looking for something similar to pizza hut's personal pan pizza. That's about the size of the 'large' pizza but way more expensive. They say it's not doughy but I disagree. If... More
