Deserves the Raves

Having dined here finally, it was well worth the wait. The service, decor, ambience, and food was impeccible. This is truly fine dining and it was a treat to eat here.

Charleston is located right at the harbor, so a window seat gives you a lovely view. Service was wonderful; our waiter was helpful and attentive. Cocktails were delicious - inventive and delicious. The menu allows for a selection of prix fixe meals - 3 to 6 course (dessert if always included). We chose 4, but 3 plus dessert would have... More

Eating at The Charleston is an experience. It's a bit pricey, but you won't be disappointed-- particularly if you save it for a special occasion. Four friends and I ate here recently to celebrate a birthday; I summarized our 'experience' below. Drinks: We began the meal with cocktails, which were (surprisingly) reasonably priced. My Old Fashioned was prepared perfectly and... More

There is absolutely nothing on the menu that isn't delicious and paired well with the specified wine, so there is no point in making a recommendation. The service is incredibly attentive and on point, and the plates are perfectly timed. It's expensive to dine here, but that's what you're signing up for by making a reservation, so make sure you... Multiple course offering so that everyone gets the ability to enjoy various options. We loved the Tuna Tartare, Jumbo Cakecake (it is Baltimore), Lamb Tenderloin, and the Beef Tenderloin. The only dish that we weren't wild about was the Swordfish which was "okay". Waiter was very helpful with selection and they let us enjoy the meal at our pace. Great... More

Lighting can be a bit dim at certain seats, I would suggest bringing a small ink pen with a low level light in it to read the menu and wine list

Everything about dinner at Charleston was first-class: ambience, service, cuisine and wine. The service was polished yet friendly. The host even telephoned the restaurant we were to dine in the following evening to reserve a special table for us. The menu choices were plentiful without being overwhelming, and the food was imaginatively prepared and presented. The wine list was pricey,... More

We had a party of four and had reservations for a couple months. We got an ok table, kind of in the back where it was very dark. They have a great wine list ($$$ a lot of mark up) food was yummy but I don't think I would make it a weekly or monthly affair. 1. Price(don't get me... More

Go there for a special occasion or celebration. It is completely memorable for a foodie. The fixed price option gives you flexibility on how many courses you want which is lovely. Everything we had was spectacular. The service was wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. Wait staff is very knowledgable and makes great recommendations after learning about the diner. Don't go... My wife and I were in Baltimore to see the musical Wicked and for dinner it was recommended we try Charleston. My wife and I had an amazing evening. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was exquisite. It is pricy but I felt the experience was worth it.
