The meal is creatively prepared and presented - absolutely delicious.. There are intricate layers of flavor in every dish. The wait staff are exceptional - professional, knowledgeable, gracious and friendly. The ambiance is elegant yet comfortable. A winning combination.

Perhaps the finest overall experience in Baltimore for a special occasion. The food, ambience and service are universally exceptional. The prices are premium as well. For us the seafood dishes are the stars. The wine list is extensive in both new and old world selections. Wonderful deserts as well. The ambience is refined, reserved but not stuffy. A wonderful destination!

The plan was to eat in the bar, with the great view, but somehow they got our reservation confused and we dined in the wine room. It as lovely and formal. If you go there, be hungry. We were snubbed by the waiter for asking if there were some way to share, or only have 2 courses. The food is... More

After enjoying their sister property, Pazo, two nights earlier, we decided to give the flagship a try. Whereas Pazo is a warehouse-hipster space, Charleston is old school tradition. We were greeted as old friends since Matthew the sommelier at Pazo called to give them a heads up. Complimentary champagne at the bar was a real treat. The bartender, Giovanni, was... More

My husband and I recently dined at Charleston to celebrate our anniversary. We had 7:30 reservations on a busy Saturday night and I can honestly say that my expectations were met if not exceeded based on all of the reviews here. Other restaurateurs should dine at Charleston to learn how to do it perfectly which is how our evening was.... More

Again, another fabulous meal. We travel to Baltimore twice yearly just to visit this restaurant. The consistency between courses is incredible and the waiters/sommelier have an amazing ability to track your likes and dislikes. She never misses with perfect standbys such as the fried oysters and the too often humdrum shrimp and grits of which hers are amazing. The smokiness... More

I don't say this lightly but this was one of the best dinning experiences I have ever had. The company was wonderful- the food and service was superb. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with soft colors and dim lighting. Conversations were easily heard and no loud music or people. There were so many choices I will just describe my dinning... My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at the cozy restaurant Charleston in Baltimore. The food certainly lived up to the Chef's reputation. The structure of the menu was fantastic and offered many delicious selctions. The small plate concept also allowed us to partake in several courses without feeling overwhelemed or stuffed. Since it was a special occasion,... More
