Food, wine, service, and ambiance, all were outstanding. The dishes that the chef selected for us (we tried their five course fixed price menu) were innovative and each provided a new taste experience. Wines were a bit pricey, but the attentive and friendly service made up for it!

A superb restaurant. Not to be missed. This is an elegant but not snobbish establishment. Guests are made to feel very welcome, and the service is impeccable without being intrusive. Deep carpets and generously spaced tables means that the experience is quiet and intimate, and leisurely. We were there for over three hours, and the evening flew. The food, as... More

We had a wonderful special birthday dinner here -- the food is just phenomenal, and I love the menu structure (about 23 dishes, of which you can choose any 3, 4, 5, or 6, plus an optional wine pairing). Many restaurants with a tasting-menu structure will insist that you all order the same number of courses, but Charleston is extremely... More

The service was superb. You feel like you are the only ones dining there- the attention is there when you want it, and the privacy to enjoy your meal is respected. The menu is a prix fix- with options on how many courses you choose dictating the cost. They start you with a little cup of soup, and it is... More

We decided to splurge and take my in-laws out to the Charleston for Thanksgiving dinner. Even though I called several weeks ahead to make a reservation and to talk with the host about arranging for the best table, I was unhappy that we were seated at a table that appeared to be awkwardly added into a main walkway from the... Last night was our first visit to Charleston, our experience has been a marvelous one. We could not believe the excellence at all levels. The culinary aspect was breathtaking. This restaurant is above 2 Michelin stars ! Everything was cooked to perfection while at the same time the culinary creations of all dishes demonstrated artistic creativity and impeccable presentation that... More

On Saturday night I had my first dinner at the Charleston Restaurant in Baltimore. I was visiting for a conference and based on the good reviews, decided to eat here. To my complete surprise, this turned out to be the VERY best restaurant I have eaten at in years. Yes - I know it has good reviews - but so... More

There is a reason that Charleston is the #1 restaurant in Baltimore. Cindy Wolfe has absolutely earned all of the hype attached to this gem. I've been dying to try this place out for years and finally made it happen. From the first to the fifth course, everything was amazing. The sommelier was knowledgable and enjoyed taking time to help... More

This formal restaurant does an excellent rendition of French cuisine with some hints of Deep South. Thus, steak tartare coexists with cornmeal batter fried oysters. Grilled quail over lemon risotto was great as was the grilled lamb brushed with pomegranate molasses. As one should expect at this price point (but one is often disappointed) this restaurant provides great cheese and... More

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and he was BLOWN AWAY. It was a surprise and he was a little upset that I didn't tell him to dress up fancier so when he got there, he was a little miffed with me. However, as soon as we were sat, it was impossible for him to stay annoyed. Phew!... More
