One of best in Baltimore

In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Baltimore. In a trendy downtown area, close to inner harbor but much better parking

My loving husband wanted to make my birthday special and brought me here. I was very impressed by the menu and the chef as well as the ambiance. On to the food : Each dish was delicious. If you're going to dine here you need time to savor every dish and you will enjoy each course. Some of the dishes... More

My husband and I went the day before Valentines Day. We had read tons of reviews on TripAdvisor about this restaurant and decided to give it a shot. The ambiance of the restaurant was incredibly romantic and cozy, and we were greeted warmly by the host, who took our coats and seated us immediately. The waitress and servers were all... More

Although we've been to Charleston many, many times before, it remains a wonderful evening of fine dining. The new menu configuration allows one to select from a wide range of dishes, from appetizers to deserts for a prix fixe depending on the number of courses. No longer must one select one or two choices from each course...you could conceivably have... More

After cancelling reservations several times my wife and I finally made it to Charleston last month for her birthday. We were both very excited to finally dine here and the restaurant lived up to the hype. We went on a Thursday night in January and the restaurant was about half full which allowed the waiter to pay close attention to... More

First time diner. Great experience! Savory food. Having lived in Beaufort SC for years, I wanted to see what Charm City's version of this regional cuisine would be. I was not disappointed. Rather than review everything I ate -- suffice it to say all 4 courses of various meats/organs were delicious. Ask your server for recs based on your pallet.... More

My wife and I recently visited Baltimore for one night and chose Charleston Restaurant based on the excellent reviews and awards and we were not disappointed. They offer a prix fixe tasting menu with 3 to 6 courses. After discussion with our waiter who was extremely professional and helpful, we both elected the 3 course menu without the wine pairing.... We ate here last night and were largely disappointed. The best parts of the experience: the soups and the service. The lobster soup was simply exquisite, and the French onion soup was wonderful, rich and brothy, although much thicker than is typical. Lobster was tender and sweet. The waitstaff made sure we wanted for nothing (well, except flavor). The duck... More

Okay I'm biased. With all due respect to Buck Showalter, John Harbaugh---Co-owners Chef Nancy Wolfe and Tony Foreman Wine Director are perennial winners in Baltimore. Charleston is regarded as the premier restaurant in Baltimore. Located in the chic Harbor East, less than five minute walk from the new Baltimore Four Seasons and the Under Armor flagship store. Fine dining second... More

When my daughter said that we would be eating out on Thanksgiving during our visit to Baltimore, I was totally in favor, and when she announced it would be at the Charleston, I was doubly in favor. This is certainly a special occasion restaurant, as reflected by the wonderful food and ambiance, and, of course, the prices, which are steep.... More
