We were so looking forward to our meal at Charleston, reputed to be the best restaurant in Baltimore. Although the service was, for the most part, impeccable, the food was a huge disappointment. It was not terrible, clearly it was made with top-notch ingredients but it was not interesting, it was not amazing, it was not transporting. It was not... More

The service is amazing, the staff is very knowledgable and friendly; the drinks are refreshing and perfectly mixed and the wine list extensive; the food is delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the buffalo tenderloin, fried oysters, and shrimp creole.

Met up with my brother for one of our semi-annual baseball trips to Baltimore. We are both devout foodies and self proclaimed wine experts. Not sure why this was my first visit to Charleston!? It will certainly not be the last!! The entire experience ranks with the best I have ever had, including The Inn at Little Washington. The staff... More

Amazing oceanfront fine dining. Menu is choose your own Prix Fixe, 3-7 courses. Wine pairings available, but the wine list here is magnificent. Dining room is elegant, but I prefer to eat at the bar. Having Bryan there to take care of you makes this the spot to be. It is an expensive meal, but the experience is worth every... More

The dining room is very nice with candles, wines and dark woods. Very pretty. Service is excellent and the food was excellently prepared. The value is very personal in the sense that even though I appreciate and recognize good food and service, to me it is food. Having said that at apprx. 100.00 pp, it is the experience your paying... A big part of life is the management of expectations. The Charleston is a perfect of example Wait staff and decor were excellent. Some dishes were fabulous, others good and some downright terrible. To name a few of the12 (unique) dishes he had (between 4) the lobster soup with curry was fantastic, the shrimp creole was uninspired and rockfish was... More

Most certainly a 4 or 5 star establishment. The service and food is on the level of the best restaurants in New York, San Francisco, or any high end eatery in North America, or the Caribbean. It is also one of the most expensive restaurants in Baltimore, so you are almost guaranteed to rub elbows with the upper crust of... More

Exception decorations and the food deserves a Michelin star. Were at the restaurant 6 years ago and it was very good. It is exceptional now. Ever dish was wonderful and the accompanying wines were perfect. We never heard a dish banged nor a server's voice at another table. Charleston deserves a Michelin star. Absolutely outstanding.

Food - excellent, but not more exceptional from other great restaurants....ambiance - lovely! Staff - great, but canned comments at every point, which gave the experience an unauthentic feel. The restaurant is beautiful, but I think I could have had a just as lovely experience for half the price ($115 for one). The least expensive meal mid-week was $79 prix... More

Think about this....food delivered to your table exactly when you are ready, not a minute too soon or too late. That's how attentive Cindy Wolf can be. She runs a tight ship. Garnish and presentation are over the top. The only thing to watch for is over-indulging. The 3 course prix-fixe is divine, the 5 course, maybe too much. This... More
