Good Indian Food/Out of the Way Spot

This restaurant is located in the same building as a bed and breakfast on Biddle Street. To get to the restaurant, you have to walk down a set of outdoor steps. Look carefully for the signs. And watch your footing on the steps. A family member and I were there on a Saturday evening and were... read more

The food was really good. The service was great. Now this was totally worth it after the hotel incident. So glad it's not the same owners who run the abacrombie!

Came for dinner after the good reviews. It's right around the corner from the Lyric. Service (AJ) was friendly and a bit apologetic for the slow kitchen. He tried to move the kitchen along, but food was dragging coming out of the kitchen. Food was decent but the chicken tika was exceptionally watery. Ordered 2 naan but only received one.... More

Curry was terrific. Sat at the bar and chatted with RJ (the bartender) and some other customers. I usually don't socialize with anyone, that's how good it is.

I've gone several times because it's convenient to the BSO, I like Indian food and the prices are very reasonable but my experiences have varied from lousy to reasonably good. This time the dinner was completely uncoordinated. The salad came but the dressing came later. The curry came but the rice came quite a bit later. The bread came but... More

We fell into this place by accident after our reservation at another nearby restaurant was canceled because of a power failure. We were rather nervous since there's an outsie window that indicates the place is dark and out of business. But, down he stairs we went to the sub-street level and found, much to our surprise, a very welcoming atmosphere,... More

I went there some months ago and it was total chaos, so not very impressive. A couple of days ago I went again and had a delightful time. My curry dish was ample, wonderful, and a bargain. My friends gyro was very good. The prices were so reasonable they were hard to believe. The service was okay. It is located... More

We went there late after a concert and they were to close in 1/2 hour and we were starving and they served us and we were grateful and the food was great.

Perhaps the strangest restaurant experience ever, happened here. We were on our way to the symphony across the street and decided to try this place. The restaurant was busy, so we opted to sit in the bar where we used to visit in its previous life as Abercrombie. The bar had been allowed to run down, and it looked a... More

Service was excellent. Prices were great compared to the fancier (translate: expensive) Indian restaurants on Charles St. We were surprised by how nice the decor was inside (the place doesn't look like much from the outside). The butter chicken, garlic naan, and rice were excellent. The chicken was very tender. The saag paneer was also very good. We didn't realize... More
