Great Spot!

My husband and I love this place. The look, the food, the service. Free valet is a plus. Would highly recommend. The Baltimore Club and the Chicken are two of our favorites! My daughter lives a few blocks from the Hamden Food Market. We went in just to have the crab soup and a glass of wine. Perfect!

Not having done much research and liking the sound of the items on the menu, we stumbled upon The Food Market. Upon walking in I immediately liked the lively and unpretentious vibe of the restaurant. We were then kindly greeted by Jermaine, who was the most gregarious, knowledgeable, and helpful waiter ever. We decided upon the truffle popcorn (I know... More

Wow. As a former New Yorker, I tend to be really picky (snobby?) about food. But I was impressed with the Food Market. I had both dinner and brunch and both were outstanding. I was fortunate enough to be visiting Baltimore during Restaurant Week. The service was great, the menu varied and interesting, and the food....ah, the food. I had... More

Arrived for dinner. We greatly enjoyed the food. Great beet salad, lamb porterhouse was outstanding. Softshell crabs excellent. The Baltimore Club, a crab cake, shrimp salad and bacon triple decker very good. Next time in town we'll be back and we are keeping this on our list of places to suggest to others.

The food is outstanding, I've had everything on the menu and it's all great. The two male bartenders are some of the best that are out there. Unfortunately, I will never return. I will never return because on of there female bartenders was extremely rude. She had been recently dumped and hated all men. No excuse to treat people this... More

We found this restaurant using an app with reviews, double checked reviews on TripAdvisor and decided it was our kind of place. We had 5 in our party for breakfast. Our waiter was prompt and brought us a nice plate of donuts and then another plate of donuts while we culled the menu. Our group ranged in age from 87... More

I must say that it's VERY surprising this place has such a high ratings. We just returned from summer RW diner. Ordered 7 dishes. From all of it the highlight of the dinner was bread with olive oil (which was not great but at least was good). The rest of the food varied from mediocre to bland to tasteless to... More

Food is good and all the items to pick from makes it a great place to share food. Always new things on the menu with small plates as well as large dinners. It does get noisy but food is worth it.
