Hampden's Best Kept Secret

I went there on a Friday, the restaurant was packed! If you didn't have a reservation, you probably would be out of luck! I had the brussel salad which was scrumptious! The right portion for one and very filling!!! I also had the street tacos! YUMMY!!! Stay away from the bread that they bring to... read more

We went here for my dad birthday brunch. The mimosa are very large and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. We got there around 9:30am and it was kind of empty but filled up by the time were were leaving. I would suggest a reservation. I can't wait to go back.

Friends of ours had recommended we visit with great enthusiasm so somewhat reluctantly my husband and I went to dinner last night. The Food Market was exactly what I had thought it would be. With a feel very akin to a cafeteria in an art museum, the food was good, but not great, with a strive to be creative and... More

We went on a Sunday night so we missed the worst of the noise I had the brussel sprouts salad very tasty. My husband had the mussels and they were so tasty I would order them as a main next time with the fries. For my main I had the soft shell crabs. There were two and I could only... More

My fiancee and I ate here and shared a bunch of their smalls and littles, and everything was excellent! I highly recommend the shrimp, the tacos and the Amish pretzels. Service was great, food was incredible, atmosphere was perfect. Truly one of the best meals we have ever had!

I'll give it 5 stars for flavors and the excellent server who took care of our party of 4. It gets 1 star for the amount of fat, sugar and salt in the food. The problem is that fat, sugar and salt really taste great but really aren't all that healthful. I couldn't finish my shrimp and grits. The shrimp... More

Had a wonderful dinner here this weekend. THe menu has lots of varied and unique options. We chose to do several small plates and sides to take advantage of as many wonderful things as possible! THe tuna meatballs are outstanding as was the beet salad! The street tacos left something to be desired. I'm not sure why they are served... More

We went there for my daughters 31st Birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The food was very fresh and delicious and the drinks were great. They do everything fresh which for me was great. The service was great and although it is a bit noisy we had no problem talking with each other. I believe reservations on the weekend are... More

We had dinner at the Food Market last night. And everything from beginning to end was delicious. We didn't have a reservation but were lucky enough to be seated right away at the community table. Our server was top notch and had fantastic recommendations. We kept commenting on how we loved and ate every bite of everything we ordered. For... More

The Food Market is like many of other restaurants on 36th street in Hampden. The chef tries too hard and the food is over wrought and over priced. The duck entree we ordered was dry and disappointing. The ingredients were: duck parts breast, confit wing, foie spaetzle, mustard greens, peanut butter, and cherry. And, at $27 we expected a terrific... More
