Great variety with choices for kids on up

Food is good and all the items to pick from makes it a great place to share food. Always new things on the menu with small plates as well as large dinners. It does get noisy but food is worth it.

I must say that it's VERY surprising this place has such a high ratings. We just returned from summer RW diner. Ordered 7 dishes. From all of it the highlight of the dinner was bread with olive oil (which was not great but at least was good). The rest of the food varied from mediocre to bland to tasteless to... More

First time at Food Market in kitschy Hamden and we loved it! Service was terrific but not stuffy. our waiter Ken was friendly helpful and 100% on the ball. Food was great but desserts were some of the best EVER. Atmosphere is good and we highly recommend!

6 of us dined there just last week. Our Hosts had been there before so we went. Hip Happening Restaurant with can you imagine, "Yellow Fin Tuna Meatballs"? Me either so I ordered. Wow what a taste treat! We shared the fresh Beet salads. Another crazy item was "Shrimp Dinner with Sausage". I have never saw that kind of item... More

Great food and drinks in a friendly community environment. We sat at the community table and met some nice people. Draft beer, nice cocktails and interesting dishes. Fried pickles were great. Many dishes we watched leave the kitchen looked great.

This was my third visit to this wonderful restaurant. Each time seemed to be better than the last. It seems that Hampden and especially 36th Street has become a Baltimore restaurant row with The Food Market as a stand out. The room is handsome, the wait staff is friendly and professional and the menu is extensive but always features fresh... More

We've been to The Food Market in Hampden 5 or 6 times and have always enjoyed it. They have wonderful cocktails and wines by the glass for imbibers. The food selection runs the gamut from warm, salted nuts to the best cut of steak. You choose from small plates, medium and large plates. I love their bronzini, my husband loves... More

I am never able too get the same thing twice at food market with their wide variety of flavors brought to each dish. That said, it's difficult to choose a favorite among them. The service is very good, even when sitting at the bar for your meal. Among the constant motion, the vibe through the dining room is always upbeat... More

I wouldn't say we're regulars at this restaurant, but pretty close. Of all 1,000 restaurants in the Baltimore area this is my #2 spot, and a lot easier to get into than my #1 spot (which as of this writing is also #1 in the city). The menu is frequently changing to accommodate for whatever is fresh and in season,... More
