We made a return visit here, having just loved it the first time. Our intention was to try some items that had appealed to us the last time we were there. We had actually already decided what to order when we got there. While waiting for our table, we perused the Restaurant Week menu. Oh, my. Everything looked so good!... More

Hampden continues to surprise and roll out good, creative, enjoyable restaurants. The Avenue is still a foodies destination. As soon as you enter you encounter a good strong vibe. The creative menu - both food and drink - entices you to try new things, and old things with a new twist. Thoroughly enjoyed my first, but certainly not last visit.

My wife and I live in the Hampden area so we always wanted to try the Food Market restaurant on the avenue. We decided to try this restaurant on a beautiful Sunday evening during restaurant week. We made reservations so we got a table right away. Our waiter Jermaine was cool, funny and on top of his game. The restaurant's... More

My wife and I decided to try this place out during Restaurant Week. My wife had wanted to try this place for some time and I thought this would be a nice date night. We made reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. The restaurant was very nice and modern looking and the tables were clean. We ordered some drinks... More

Great, great dining experience. EVERYTHING here is good. the pretzels with cheese fondue, the basil popcorn, the edamame, the spicy, creamy, garlicky, herby, cheesy, winey shrimp, the bread & butter crusted seabass, the steak frites ... you pick any item from the menu, its delicious.

The menu here changes with the seasons but the food is consistently top-notch and there are a lot of creative seasonal drinks. We recently enjoyed Korean chicken-- spicy sauce and mac & cheese, and soft shelled crabs with a zucchini sauce and asparagus. One thing that makes this restaurant good for families is that there are several creative non-alcoholic drinks... More

The bison burger was outstanding. I love the choices on the menu and also the drink selection. We loved everything we had including the burgers which are not huge but which I prefer and the crunchy brie sticks were so good. We also had the maryland tomato salad which was a treat. It is an upbeat place but not pretentious.... More

Dinner for 6 on Saturday night. Make reservations 2 weeks in advance for prime time dining. The service was extremely attentive and helpful. We started with salad and appetizers, Caprese Salads and Pan seared mussels. The mussels were truly the best preparation I've ever had and the Caprese used fresh Maryland like tomatoes. Dinners were Grilled Bronzini, Super Scallops, Steak... More

I usually wait until I have dined at a restaurant a few times before giving it a review. I really think what separates a very good restaurant from all the others is it's consistency. Let's face it, any restaurant can have a good night or a bad night. I have dined at the Food Market several times and I can... More
