Consistently excellent!

I wouldn't say we're regulars at this restaurant, but pretty close. In Baltimore recently for daughter's graduation and tried out a couple of recommended restaurants. The Food Market was in a trendy little area, Hampden, with lots of cute artsy shops. Four of us had lunch on a Sunday and were impressed from start to finish. Food is trendy like the neighborhood, but really tasty. Among us we shared tiny tacos... More

My husband and I were not terribly impressed with our first visit to the Food Market. We felt it didn't quite meet the expectations we had for it based on all the hype. We came back for a second try and left very satisfied. We ordered the asparagus salad and the cauliflower & carrot starter. Both were exceptional. On our... More

What a creative and unique set of offerings at this very fun restaurant! We had wonderful cocktails, great appetizers, delicious meals and yum yum to the desserts!! The service was great, and we loved the free valet parking. Make reservations way ahead of time I hear... (we were guests of our kids). Come hungry and ready for a wonderful dining... More

Oh Hampden, you have so so many great places to eat. Food Market is usually quite solid. I like to go there with a few folks and get a bunch of plates to share, but that’s actually how I prefer all my dining. What I like about their menu is the things are divided by size. I was there for... More

Excellent food - well matched combinations of ingredients, presented well by an attentive staff. Excellent cocktails and make sure you save room for dessert. I had a chicken dish with ramps, fiddle-heads, peas, and truffle ravioli which was superb. And you may have rum into pretzels with a beer/cheese dipping sauce but this one is head and shoulders above the... More

Great spacious place. Very laid back, friendly and attentive. we arrived there around 9:30 on a a Wednesday night and were promptly seated. Or waitress Jennifer was very friendly and made a couple of recommendation. We order Panco Brie with apples and bread. It went well with the wonderful Prosecco Champagne. We also had an order of Fried Lobster Fingers... More

Neighborhood: A “shabby chic” sort of area with a main street full of sometimes quirky places to eat and shop. It has transformed over the years into a cool place to live for college students and recent graduates in their first jobs. Parking is on the street and sometimes a chore. The neighborhood feels safe enough. Atmosphere: An old general-store-type... More

Love this place! The food is exceptional and the menu choices are interesting. Every server I've had here is knowledgeable and attentive. The place is small so you definitely need reservations, especially for brunch on the weekends. The tables are very close, but the acoustics in the room are good, so conversation is not a problem. My favorite dishes here... More

We were in the mood to stroll around Hampden, and get a few drinks and appetizers. I had heard that the Food Market was good, so we stopped in, around 5:00pm on a Sunday afternoon. With the exception of a couple of tables, it was empty, so we chose to sit at the bar. The bartenders were very professional, friendly,... More
