We arrived without a reservation with only 30 minutes to go before the end of the Sunday brunch service, but were seated quickly and without a hassle. The food -- I had the TBLT and my two lunch companions had the breakfast crepes -- was very good, as was the service. Hampden is a great neighborhood for wandering around, but... More

Met old friends, native Baltimoreans, for dinner at Alchemy. We were in town originally planning to stay 2 nights but the "delightful" Spring snow on March 19 meant we wouldn't be driving to Connecticut as planned. Super good food. Well seasoned, well cooked, professionally served. I shared the beet salad which if served to all those beet haters out there... More

Just arrived home from the most amazing dinner experience. Kyle, our server, as well as Debi & Michael Matassa, husband and wife proprietors know their talents. From the fun people watching in our cozy corner at the front the restaurant to the professionalism and excellent hospitality to the most spectacular dinner in town...we were really impressed. First heard of the... More

For a while now, I've wanted to try Alchemy in Hampden. It's been on my list for quite possibly two years now so I was thrilled the other night when I was going out to dinner with some friends, we were looking for a spot in Hampden and decided on Alchemy. It was restaurant week, so we were able to... More

Right from the minute we walked in, my wife and I knew this was going to be an experience out of the ordinary. We were greeted by owner Debi Bell-Matassa, who escorted us to our table. She took note of my guitar scarf and we got into a short discussion of guitars. And believe me folks, Debi knows her guitars!... More

We went just at the beginning of 2015 and walked around Hampden, took in the Christmas lights and then had a wonderful dinner at Alchemy. The three of us chose all different things from the menu - I had a pear salad and red snapper my two sons chose the crab bisque and tenderloin steak and the french onion soup... More

Ohhh, I am so confused when I read the glowing reviews. I certainly did not experience what others did. As soon as I walked in I walked outside again to check that I was in the right place. It was dark and grim seeming and the hostess was obviously put out that she had to seat us, so told us... More

Viewed the Christmas lights on 34th street in Hampden and then took the family of seven to Alchemy for dinner. EVERYTHING was delicious. The Crab mac & cheese, Braised Beef Cheek French onion (More than could be eaten) , crabcakes (two large), pork on pork, VERY large serving, stuffed winter squash were all perfectly served. Wait staff were exceptional. Will... More

Im in love with the food. We have brunch today. My husband have a tradicional breakfast and i have a bristo french toast...its beautiful and delicious. The bottonless mimosa is very affordable. I really recomend this place. Good staff, good atmosphere and most important: delicious food.
