The hostess seemed a little new or just didnt care about customer service. She went to look for a table to seat us, came back approx 5 minutes later (which I thought was a long time) then looked right at me and asked me again "How Many?" as if she completely forgot she had just asked me and went looking... We enjoyed supper here before a show at the Hippodrome. We picked it because of the location (across the street), and we were satisfied enough with the food. The soup of the day was buffalo chicken (light on the chicken with no other substantial ingredients), so that was kind of a disappointment. Service was kind and attentive, though.

I visited Alewife with my mom before a show at the Hippodrome. After we parked, we peeked in a number of restaurants and saw a nice crowd at Alewife so we decided it must be pretty good. We were seated on the balcony over-looking the bar (awesome vantage point and intimate). We ordered a few appetizers to share: the shrimp... More

Picked this place as a convenient location to rendezvous with friends. The location was what we wanted and the menu looked good. We decided to meet at 11:30 am for an early casual lunch, even made a reservation on Open Table since we had no idea about weather or not it would be a crowded place. No crowd, no reservation... The worst dining experience of my life. When we complained the owner chased us outside and started screeming at us. I almost had to cal 911. Do not go there. I love Baltimore but Baltimore does not need this place

Great lunch and beer options at this downtown, but away from the Inner Harbor restaurant. It is near the Hippodrome and another local theater. Menu also included vegetarian options (always appreciated) and some great beer choices. My husband said his grilled cheese was the best he ever had! We'd definitely go back.

I've been to Alewife twice. Both times, the food was quality and we'll prepared. They have a nice beer selection and the location is convenient to Camden Yards. The burgers are very tasty, but way overpriced. Bar service was a bit underwhelming. I'll probably look for other options on my way to the game next time.

We visited Alewife after spending the day at a college football game. We were beat from the humidity (it was August 30!) and awfully thirsty! This place has a great selection of craft beers on tap. It's a very old building with lots of interesting architectural features (though the Ladies restroom is tricky to find!) and we enjoyed just being... More

I had the pleasure of being introduced to this place a year or so ago by some friends. Was very impressed and wanted to bring my wife. So today after the Oriole game I thought it would be the perfect time. Not very busy for a Sunday afternoon and we looked at the menu. We both ordered the "Smoke Burger"... More

Conveniently located across from the Hippodrome Theatre in an excellent example of adaptive reuse of a former bank, this tavern is also a great stopping place on the way to the stadiums as you wait for traffic to die down after a game. Extensive beer selection with 40 beers on tap accompanies a small but eclectic food menu. Our pre-theatre... More
