Classic waterfront crab shack

Great outdoor crab house with water view. Highly recommend the steamed shrimp to go with your crab order. We didn't order the boardwalk fries but it seemed like everyone else did - now I'm sorry I didn't.

Just went and had all you can eat hard shell crabs on the outdoor deck of this restaurant. Crabs are expensive but the all you can eat M-Th is a really good deal. Probably not the very best place to get crabs in the area but definitely the best I have found if you are limited to the area around... More

We went to Captain James before an Orioles game one Sunday on the recommendation of friends. They have a fairly ample parking lot which is quite nice considering the location. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and they let us take seats as they were setting up. I would recommend getting there early, especially if you want to... More

We went for dinner to the restaurant. We shared a seafood feast with snow crab legs, lobster, broiled fish, 1 shrimp, 1 steamed shrimp, 3 crab balls and 1 oyster Rockefeller. It was supposed to be fresh, but tasted as if it had been frozen. The crab legs were hard to get out of the shell. I think we would... More

We came here on a recommendation by our B&B. I had crabcakes, and I have had better in Baltimore before. They were only OK, not great. My wife had a sauteed shrimp dish she absolutely loved. She also had some grits that were some of the best she has ever had. The customer service was outstanding. My boys wanted to... More

So, I am not basing this review on something that happened a year ago, but this adds to the story. Almost exactly a year ago, about a 12 of us coworkers and our friends and family members decided to try their All You Can Eat crabs. I called right before leaving at 3:30 p.m. from 30 minutes away and was... More

Service was excellent! food came out in spurts, did not like that not everyone got food at the same time; had to share or eat without them corn was mushy, and they served squeezable margarine with the corn, yuck coleslaw not good shrimp was over done and way too much Old Bay seasoning crabcake was delicious with lots of crab;... Went to experience eating Maryland Crabs. Fun sitting outside at large picnic table with our group of 8. I thought the crabs were more work than it was worth for what you got, pretty pricey. Our server was very good and it is a fun casual place to eat outside on the water.

Oh I was in heaven! Huge, succulent spicy crabs👍🏽 was the order of the day. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. I have found the place to go when I come back.

If you visit Baltimore, you must eat some crabs. And, if you must eat some crabs, no better place to eat them than Captain James! You will be seated at a picnic, shared with other folks, and overlooking the harbor. But that just adds to the fun. Don't wear your best shirt or blouse. Be prepared just to dig in... More
