Better than expected

The reviews we read either gave Captain James five stars or one so we didn't know what to expect. We were expecting touristy kitsch. Instead we found nautical but nice. We have eaten here twice and loved it. The Crab Fries are the Best, almost a meal itself but don't stop there. The crab cakes are great as well as buying a dozen whole crabs to enjoy..

We were in town for the MLK holiday weekend. My wife picked this place because she had a groupon (she almost always does :-). We made reservations for 7pm but were a bit late. Still, the hostess was able to sit us promptly. The place was pretty packed - must be a popular joint, I thought to myself...... We started... More

Had a huge platter of several different types of seafood. All in all, very very good. Loved the Crab Cakes. Snow Crab legs--OK, nothing special. Salmon--same thing. Pretty good service for the larger party we had.

I went with two co workers, ordered the all you can eat crabs. Amazing food, amazing wait staff (we had at least 3 people waiting on us), great atmosphere, and even were given a ride back to the hotel by our waiter (Joe). He is the best, and deserves a raise!! Definitely recommend for a great time!

I went to Captain James and the food was pretty good. I ordered a Crab Stuffed Flounder, baked Sweet Potatoe and Aspargus. The flounder was very good, the sweet potatoe needed to be fixed up as it came with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some type of butter that wasn't sweet at all. The asparagus was hard and not flavorful.... More

Great crab cakes, also the oysters. Great service. Good location, and near to the broadway square, you should try it. Good pasta the only that I miss was a draft beer.

I ordered the catfish and it was horrible. I also ordered spicy crab and corn chowder which was excellent. I would give the restaurant one more try as it could have been the order I placed. They have reasonable prices also.

As a first time customer, I felt that Captain James Landing restaurant was an excellent choice. My family (which included my husband, sister and grandson) wanted to have a good dinner in a restaurant the we read about via Groupon. When I called for information, we were informed that a reservation was needed. The gentlemen (Bill was his name) was... More
