Description: When you inherit a space as magical as the historic former Baltimore...
When you inherit a space as magical as the historic former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad headquarters, you've got to do it justice. We kept our building's most stunning architectural features intact while updating the space with contemporary design elements and nostalgic touches, like chairs and table lamps from original B&O dining cars. Our practices are distinctly 21st century, though, from selecting the best local produce at the farmer's market to serving cutting-edge craft cocktails to maintaining a steadfast commitment to sustainable business practices. If only train passengers from the early 1900s had it so good!

Awesome late dinner after a very long day of meetings

In Baltimore on business, and hoped for good food after a very long day. The amazing Hostess, Maria, said I could order from the bar or dinner menu if I sat on the first floor, so I did. While it was somewhat noisier than I would have liked, as I ended up ordering the most amazing burger off of... read more

The restaurant is located in the Hotel Monaco which is located a few blocks from the Inner Harbor. The hotel was once the headquarters for the B&O Railroad. If you have some time before or after dinner, check out the lobby of the hotel. It's beautiful. Marble staircases lead up to the front desk where you will find some information... More

This place is a neighborhead gem. A very unusual but really tasty menu. I am really happy to have meals there for multiple nights in a row (which I do when I'm on business travel there). The wait staff is great.

I was staying at this hotel... went to the bar one evening, and after 10 minutes of no service, I left. Two nights later gave it another try for an early dinner prior to a flight, & it was lovely & delicious.

Breakfast wait seated at the table for just eggs and coffee took 57 min. Apologetic manager could not even put it on the house after all. Every meal has enough salt in it that the taste is totally lost.

Supertough1, My apologies on the wait that you experienced while dining at B&O. That is totally unacceptable. I will speak to my chef regarding items being over salty. I think that is something we can easily correct. Please let me know if you are coming back to Baltimore, I would love to buy you breakfast. More

Tons of beers on tap and a lively dining room in the evening. The food is solid and the service a little less so. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious. We also had breakfast in the restaurant and it was quite good.

...following a day of conferencing. Exactly the hip, cool atmosphere we needed! Fantastic oysters with trout roe had a coordinating cocktail --I was hooked. Adorable server recommended the catch of the day, which was delicious. Definitely recommend and hope to return!

As part of Hotel Monaco in Baltimore, formerly the B&O Railroad Station, the American Brasserie is an "upscale eatery" easily accessible from the hotel or the street, with 2 separate entrances. Stylish with its high-back buttoned leather booths or wood tables with chairs to match the booths, it's an open space with the bar on one side and the pizza... More

This was a planned dinner for our last night in Baltimore; a beaut write up that did not disappoint. The food was great (Short Rib Sliders to share; two of the Basted Scallops, and a Black Forest Bete Noire to share) washed down with a jar of Line State Punch. Food was great, service from Ashley was attentive but not... More

There were 12 of us for breakfast. It was apparent to me that the restaurant staff was not prepared to handle a party of this size. It took way too long to place our order and way too long to receive our food. Not everyone in our party was served at the same time. Our waitress didn't seem happy to... More

Thank you for your feedback and my apologies on the delays in service. I always recommend reservations in advance so we know to expect a large group. We make everything a la minute so larger orders do take a little longer. I do hope you return to Baltimore and visit us again. More
