Fusion Latin cuisine with a flaire

We visited Talara for the first time recently and all we can say is: Wow! Although their monthly menu is a subset of the larger menu you'll see on their website, the appetizers and entrees that come out of the kitchen are all outstanding. We came here for dinner on a Monday night. They had good guacamole + dips to start, then I had some fishcakes (yes I know, not very latin). Good Capirinhia. Nice decor and decent staff. In the evening they push back the tables and give Salsa lessons. The locals I know say its one of the better, more dependable, local... More

We came into the restaurant about 8:30 PM and there were no seats available so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly and made great suggestions for our drinks and entrées. The blood orange margarita with infused jalapenos and habanero's and was off the chain. The fire and Ice ceviche and mussels were also... More

This is my second visit and honestly couldn't rember much of my last visit. We sat by the bar and waitress took a bit longer to take my order. There is a good mix of drinks and food selection on the happy hour menu. I ordered the blacked chicken tacos and they were not so bad but not the greatest.... More

Always a bit tired on Fridays but decided to head downtown to Harbor East rather than have dinner near home. My wife and I shared two appetizers both bursting with flavor, one entree, and one dessert that could serve 3. The ribs appetite could have been a dinner by itself it was so good. Very lively atmosphere. Worth the drive.... More

These guys are a regular stop on my friday nights in Harbor East. I love the food and the service – although I seriously do miss Nora, but I am very happy she is moving on to bigger and better things. I probably should branch out because I am always pleasantly surprised when I taste new dishes, but we always... More

Just wished we could eat there very week! We were so impressed with the Executive Chef Jonathan. He actually made up something on the spot for my Mom due to her birthday & it was delicious! My Mom & I absolutely love Latin inspired things so this place was perfect for us esp on a warm July night. The music,... More

I chose this based on reviews and that it was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We had a 6 pm reservation but chose to sit in the bar area so we could order from the happy hour menu. We ended up not ordering any food from that menu because the tapas we wanted was on the full... More

One of my favorite spots when taking clients for tapas but all the favorite things for me was not available. They say a new menu is coming but last night was a disaster. Probably will not return. Why should I when they had no energy or desire last night. Sad as i had looked forward to the evening.
