Mixed Feast

During a recent stay in Baltimore we ate at the Diamond Tavern a few times - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall I thought the service and staff were great. Very friendly, very helpful, very polite, and on a few occasions very funny too! The food itself was a bit of a mixed affair... read more

Here on business, got in late, and decided to try this place (connected to the Baltimore Hilton). As always, I sit at the bar. The bar tender was friendly, but didn't know anything about the menu. He had to go ask the kitchen what came with dinners, and the cut of steaks served. I ordered the She Crab bisque. Terrible,... More

I ate breakfast here for the four days of my stay in Baltimore the breaskfast buffet was obviously the best value at $23 plus tax (Just over $24) I thought it a bit pricey $28 with the gratuity but it was good food omelets by request and lots of everything else.

We were stuck in the hotel during a snowstorm and this was the only food source close by that was open. The overburdened staff did a great job handling the huge and hungry dinner crowd. The lower level of this restaurant, near some large street-level windows, was COLD. There were crab cakes on the menu; when I asked whether the... More

Myself and 2 colleagues went in for dinner. I Asked the hostess if they could accomadate my Gluten allergy, she was unsure, but many places i go the chef usually can so we stayed. I had to explain to the waiter that i was gluten free so he suggested a side salad with my steak. The other 2 ordered appetizers,... More

Northan "The Omelet Man" can make a mean omelet... Or shall I say omelets! I eat an egg white omelet 5 days a week and so I know a good omelet when I eat one. His "make you feel at home" personality spills over into the love that goes in his cooking. I cannot thank you enough for making me... More

The "diamond" in the name is what you'll have to pawn to pay for your dinner. Usual restaurant in a hotel that has captive patrons (like myself). Service folks were excellent, food wasn't terrible or stunning, and the prices were in line with a higher tier restaurant. If you have the time or inclination, consider something else.

Stayed at the Hilton for a conference. Needed some lunch and went to the Diamond Tavern. Restaurant was half full. We were seated quickly. The wait for our server was so long the hostess gave us water. We advised we were on a bit of a short time line... didn't seem to matter. This was mid-February, maybe things are better... More

This was a disappointing meal, overall. I loved the 50/50 Caesar (kale and romaine). The seared salmon, however, was raw on the bottom. Not rare. Raw. When I mentioned it to the server, he apologized. OK then. The "molten" fudge cake was entirely solid. Nothing molten about it. So the fish was undercooked, and the dessert was over-cooked. Could have... More
