We were seated immediately and it went downhill from there. The waiter was surly. Thankfully once the food arrived it was very good!

McCabes has a bit of a fortress-like exterior, but inside is a classic friendly pub with very good food. I had a delicious crab cake sandwich, and my dining partner had french onion soup and a grilled ham and cheese. All were really tasty. The service was also friendly and efficient. If I'm again traveling to this part of Baltimore,... More

This is a darkish, small bar with a local clientele. The staff is always friendly. They have a great selection of beers on tap. The burgers are the best in Baltimore. The bun by itself is amazing, but the burger is always perfect.

Our kids live in Baltimore City, and they suggested this place to eat prior to going to see the lights on 34th street....it was an awesome recommendation! McCabes is a small, kind of dark-ish restuarant bar. It has a real local feel about it. We arrived on a Thurs nt about 6, and found close, parallel parking on the street..don't... More

I was in Baltimore for a music festival and my friend (a Baltimore native) took our group here for brunch. I was wary in the beginning since we were the only customers the whole time we were there but the crab cake sandwich was PHENOMENAL! Don't overlook this gem and don't miss the crab cake sandwich!

I've lived in Hampden for a few years and never really paid any mind to McCabes. Recently, I heard there were new owners. A group of us decided to check it out - wow! I was impressed. Tiny dining area is very cozy. The menu was the perfect size and had many comfort foods on it. Some of my friends... More

McCabes is one of my husband and my favorite places to just go and hang out and have a good burger or fish sandwich. We love to sit at the bar and talk to the locals and the great bartender. If you want to spend the evening in a comfortable classic Baltimore place - this is it!

Stopped in after a business trip to unwind and organize my work. I was chearfully greated by the barmaid and helped with the food menu for recommendations. I decided on the burger and it was a big hit. Cooked perfect...a real medium rare not gray like most places. It was juicy without being sloppy and seasoned perfectly. The bun had... More

I told my friends that I wanted crabcakes since I was in Maryland, and they took me to McCabe's. What a treat!! The crabcake was huge and all meat with very little filling and cooked perfectly. I had the choice of two sides which was nice because I could get veggies instead of a starch. The spinach was great, as... More

We go to McCabe's often as it's nearby and the closest thing to an informal European-style bistro in its atmosphere. The bar is not loud, no smoking, attractive dining area, which is set off from the bar by a chest-high divider, so it's separate but not isolated. Last visit I had cream of crab soup, nowhere near as good as... More
