Just great food in a moderate price range. Uses local produce. Sevres the community through hiring ex-offenders. What is there not to love about it?

We have always had excellent food, service - all around great experience - at The Dogwood. For those who know the parking situation in Hamden you'll appreciate the free parking lot in the back for patrons. Although they no longer offer lunch (boo hoo) we regularly enjoy dinner there. The hand cut potato chips are a particular favorite - crispy... More

We have always had great experience in dining at Dogwood. This lunch during restaurant week was no exception. Not only was the food up to its usual quality, ...the choices you had from the special menu were most generous. Most of the reviews of choices from others were somewhat limited.Thank you Dogwood

A warm and inviting neighborhood venue for great oysters, salads, fresh local specialities and great gourmet burgers. Sit on the bar side with carpeting and you will be abke to hear your tablemate.

Great food but you are sitting in a dungeon. They have nice decorations but it is just dark and basement feeling. The deli upstairs is bright and too small. But good food.

The five o'clock opening makes this a great spot for pre-theater or movie. Broad menu has reliable staples - seafood and beef always prepared well, fresh weekly specials and a good array of vegetarian options. Fresh oysters in season are tops. If noise level is an issue, ask to be seated on carpeted area near the bar. Wine pairings are... More

We had dinner (4 of us) at Dogwood recently on a busy Saturday night just after Christmas. From the moment we walked in, we knew we would have a great time since everyone else at the restaurant was enjoying friends, family and fantastic food. We happily joined in the fun. Thank you for making good food accessible in a lovely... More

Been meaning to go to this place for years. Finally bought a groupon to force me to try it. We had a pear salad and grilled calamari to start. Then we have segura vuida Cava with a whole rainbow trout with a balsamic reduction, almonds, mandarin oranges and grapes on red quinoa. My husband ordered a spicy burger called Scoville... More

I've lived in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore for a few years now and I eat out a bunch. EVERY TIME I come here, I receive excellent service. The Chef and his wife are often at the restaurant welcoming guests. Galen has been featured on many food network specials and is a local celebrity. Why? He gives back to the... More

We dined at The Dogwood recently and had a great evening. We had heard very little about it until we saw it ranked in the top 20 in an article in the Baltimore Sun. First of all, the area where they are located is a very interesting area of Baltimore. Many small shops and the people watching is fun. The... More
