Thank goodness for iced tea!

We were out walking on a day that was unusually hot for Astoria. We stepped inside the Blue Scorcher for some relief, and we found it. The iced tea was perfect and, had we stayed in town longer, we would have returned to try the coffee. I had a muffin and my husband had a cinnamon roll, and both... read more

This vegetarian bakery.cafe is uniformly , and we've been there at least a dozen times. Coffee is excellent, with 50 cent refills, the danish pastries have a unique dough almost like a puff pastry, the scones are delicious with changing ingredients, and the oatcakes will grow on you - dry at first, then increasingly delicious. The "Scorcher" refers not to... More

Passing through Astoria, my grandson and I stopped here for lunch. What a great move! I understand that it is a worker's collective and it has that kind of vibe - very casual, laid back and eco conscious. Sensationally good food...and all we had was the beans and rice! Stocked up on most excellent baked gods for our relatives in... More

We found this restaurant through another app and decided to try it because there are gluten free options. Not always excited by a salad, I was happy to see they had fajita tacos on special. I ordered that plus the rum raisin cake. It took what seemed like forever to get our food but it ended up being really good.... More

Walking around Astoria, we stopped here for a latte and espresso, all tables were full, but the line was short so we waited to order. The people ahead seemed to be ordering a banquet , because it took about 10 minutes , but while we waited we observed the staff picking up food items with no gloves. Is that even... More

I was recommended this place by some friends but did not expect such a brilliant vegetarian and bike friendly place. Delicious food, great beverages, great clientele. My only gripe is the inexplicably over pricing.

The Blue Scorcher was a block from the hotel. Initially I walked in just to check it out. Everything looked delicious and I returned the next day for breakfast. My quiche was delicious. They also have a great selection of magazines that you can browse. They were sampling bread and they were all good. The only downside is that it... More

We go to Blue Scorcher for breakfast every time we come to Astoria. I have to recommend their Blueberry French Toast and Vegetable Fritatta! For the french toast they use wonderful crusty artisan bread that holds up to the amazing blueberries and sauce. And the vegetable fritatta with potatoes and green goddess sauce is amazing, great flavor and very hearty... More

We stopped in on our way out of town to grab a quick breakfast. Lots of selection. My almond roll was a little too sweet, but tasty overall. Can't say anything about the coffee or cafe food because we didn't have it. Good on-the-run breakfast, but we paid more than I'd like to for a couple pastries.

Traveling through Astoria and so pleased to find a true vegetarian restaurant. This is a coop so the workers are all owners and they treat the restaurant as such. They have excellent attention to detail. I had the P.G.A. which is a portabella, goat cheese and arugula sandwich. The spouse had the taco special and a coffee. The food was... More
