Good service, the usual Rogue beers, better in Newport or Portland

I really like Rogue brewpubs for the atmosphere and attitude that they bring to beer which highlights the characters of the Pacific Northwest. But I think the Rogue locations in Newport and Portland carry that theme more successfully, and I would recommend them more. There was nothing particularly... read more

I really like Rogue brewpubs for the atmosphere and attitude that they bring to beer which highlights the characters of the Pacific Northwest. But I think the Rogue locations in Newport and Portland carry that theme more successfully, and I would recommend them more. There was nothing particularly wrong with our experience, but we were not given the big catalog... More

I've been to breweries all around the world, and I've got to say the atmosphere here at Rogue's Public House in Astoria is AWESOME. You drive onto the pier and park (don't drop anything - there's small gaps in the decking), or park on main land and walk over. We went on a Wednsday for lunch - there weren't many... More

My wife and I stopped in for a root beer float while visiting Pier 39 - a must see while in Astoria. The Pier 39 museum was worth the walk, then a stop at Rogue for dessert. The root beer float was OK. They only put on scoop of ice cream and it was frozen as hard as a brick,... More

Very disappointing 1st time visit to this part of the Rogue nation. Our waiter disappeared for an hour and we were 1 of only 2 tables. Had to ask for bread 3 times. Very slow on a Friday night which I now understand. This particular public house does not deserve to be included in the nation.

We walked to the Rogue Public House from the Hampton Inn, which makes the location of this brew pub convenient and unique (on the pier). We were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. Our server was busy yet friendly, and attentive enough to get the job done. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich - the sauce was... More

Service okay, friendly enough but did not let us know items not available until bringing out rest of food. Brought soup after meals? Forgot water and didn't really check in with us during meal. Food mediocre. Clam chowder fine but salmon chowder was like a refried bean paste. Burgers fine, fries too, but did not care for tuna or pulled... More

One of the coolest things about going to the Rogue Public House is getting to drive onto the pier to get the restaurant. We came in as a family of 5 at dinner time on a Sunday. We have three kids (12, 10 and 3). The kids ordered Rogue's own root beer. it was real root beer and had a... More

Visiting Northern Oregon Coast. Was told Rogue Ales was great for beer. Enjoyed the beer sampler. Currently 30 choices. For food, I ordered Halibut and Chips. $17 seemed a bit high, and I figured the portion would be ample. Three small pieces and slightly warm fries. Not great. My wife liked the tacos. Restaurant was not busy at the time... More

Great beer and wonderful selection. Slooooow service and ridiculous pricing. $15.00 for a salmon Caesar salad. Consisted of a bag of $1.79 lettuce, 1 tablespoon of dressing, soggy croutons and a playing card size portion of over- cooked salmon. Obscene!

I ate at several restaurants in Astoria, and this one was the "go to" place. The beer is good, the food is very good, the staff is friendly, and the environment is very low key. I was surprised by their salad, very good fish and chips, and a beer for every taste. When trying someplace new, this was the standard... More
