We enjoyed lunch last week at Clemente's. The delightful server walked us thru the fresh fishes, each one making our mouths water. I had the sushi grade Albacore lightly marinated in a soy ginger w/diced cucumber $ green onion appetizer with a main course of fresh halibut. To die for!

Went there tonight and had a terrible experience. The restaurant was understaffed and wait staff was inexperienced. Never asked us for drinks, wine with our dinner or brought bread until we asked( cold bread at that). My wife's food did not come out until we were almost finished with dinner and the crab cakes were cold! Also, the salad appeared... More

We had one of the best dinners we ever had at this restaurant just last evening. We had spent the afternoon at the Shallon Winery in Astoria and asked the winery owner for a dinner recommendation. The food and service were both superb, and I can't recall ever experiencing such high quality for such a reasonable price. A friend and... More

If you are tired of mediocre food while you travel, this restaurant is a gem. Our waiter was engaging, knowledgeable, and truly helpful. He explained specials, answered our questions with ease, and remained attentive. Two other staff members checked on us during lunch and were quite friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. No exaggeration. The salmon was lightly breaded, flavorful,... More

The Fodor 2010 award -one of the "World's Top Establishments" is a bit hard to swallow, (hard to follow through on too) but the crab cakes were wonderful. Comparing to say the Silver Salmon only one person out front, versus several, not sure what happens if a crowd appears. The biggest negative is that it "looks pricey" from the outside,... More

The French fries were good, but everything else was mediocre - food, service, & ambiance. There are other restaurants we wish we had tried instead of this one. We would not return. Also, there were at least 5 other groups of people who came to the entrance, but left because no one showed interest in seating them.

If I would have known they were deep frying the crab cakes, I would have passed. I tried one thinking, oh gosh, what did they do to this?? But it was lovely, full of crab meat, and almost undercooked. mmmmm....... great greens to go with, and I ordered the $5. bread/olive plate with it, and it was perfect. Not enough... More

Does not seem to be a comfortable environment. So let's get to the food. Not that memorable. Let's get to the service. Seems to be hit and miss. Today consistency is important. Return? Maybe. Recommend? Maybe.

This place is really good. We tried the salmon fish and chips, which were excellent. They make their own catsup which was delicious. The martinis were also very good. The Dungeness crab cakes were a little moist for my taste, but my friend loved them, so that is just a matter of preference. Service is a little slow here, so... More

I've lived in Portland for 3 yrs, before that eaten at fabulous restaurants in NYC, London, Paris, LA, throughout France, Italy and Spain. No I am not a foodie, but I know excellent food when I eat it. This place is great. The crab cakes are hands-down the best I have ever had - no fillers as far as I... More
