This place cannot be beat. From the clam chowder, the shepherd pie great , but the fish and chips still the best. Choice of fresh fish includes calamari, shrimp, scallops, halibut and oysters. Deserts are all homemade our favorites can be banana cream, cocoanut cream Chocolate. The drinks are good including our favorite the pint beers. Still the best fresh... More

We enjoyed our dinner there and had the mixed fish and chips. Clam Chowder for starters was very good too. Service was friendly and quick. They warn you on the menue, that it could take a while when it is full. The Ship Inn is right on the shore of the Columbia River.

It had been many years since I had last eaten at the Ship Inn. The Ship Inn was always known for having the best fish and chips in town. I was NOT disappointed. I have to say, the halibut and the squid fish and chips are still the best I have ever eaten (on the entire West Coast). If you... More

This was an old style family restaurant, like taking a step back a few years with the décor. The food however was tasty. It seemed like a place that the older local community frequented as people knew each other.

We were recommended a visit to the Ship Restaurant by a local shop. Realising we were English, it was suggested we try there for dinner that evening. A bit hesitant (we really wanted to sample an Astoria experience), we decided to give it a go. I suppose as a Chinese or Indian Restaurant is in the UK (far removed from... More

It was quiet and on the waterfront. Chowder was very good and we heard the fish and chips were also good. Maybe next time.

This is not an English restraunt by a long shot. Restraunt smelled like a sour wet rag. Menu was lacking. If you want only a grease soaked fish then your in luck I guess. Poor, poor, poor

We have been going to the Ship Inn for years and it's the only restaruant my husband likes to stop at for seafood. Their fish and chips or seafood combo plates have the best batter around and don't forget to save room for homemade pie!

Let's get this out of the way. The restaurant and decor have seen better days. Back in the 70's, I presume. Spectacular view makes up for that, at least during daylight hours. And the place is clean. However, I don't go there for the ambiance. The Fish and Chip Combo has been for years (and still is!) the Deep Fried... More

I stopped by The Ship Inn because of its beautiful location. I was greeted by my waitress Janet, who was NOT friendly and looked like she would rather be anywhere else. I first asked if I could sit on the outside patio to see the water. Janet looked irritated, pointed in the general direction of the patio and told me... More
