Owned by an English person, so there are English items on the menu

We went there for the English food. There were a number of authentic items on the menu. The building and furnishing are in need of a complete re-do; I was concerned that the food would be that way, too, but it was not. It was pretty good English-style food. The view is great--right on the... read more

The Ship Inn is still going strong after being a family favorite for over 25 years! We recently took our daughter and her family here for lunch and the Halibut Fish and Chips are the best of anywhere we have found in the area. The prices have gone up in the last couple of years but it is still one... More

Service good and friendly. The place is dated, seems like the 1960's filled with locals. It's fun but the food is just average that I had. Half order halibut fish and chips for $13 bucks. Smaller squares two pice with normal fries and decent cole slaw. It was good but nothing great. Also tried Clam chowder that tasted like normal... More

I had the cod fish and chips with a beer. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Served piping hot. Oh My Goodness! What a treat!

English restaurant that's out of English menu items? Unfortunately, they were out of two of our main entree choices so we had the Fish and Chips. It was definitely delicious Fish and Chips and I think the Oyster Cocktail had some of the fattest, freshest raw oysters I've ever had! I was just a bit confused that on a Saturday... More

I love this place. I rarely visit Astoria without stopping in for some Halibut Fish and Chips! I enjoy sitting in the English Pub at the front of the restaurant, even though the views of the water and Astoria-Megler bridge are exceptional from the dining area. I have taken so many friends and family to The Ship Inn over the... More

We had lunch here and had a table with a view of the river and bridge. The trolley also runs right behind it on the river side. It is an older building with some character. The seafood combination ( deep fried prawns, scallops, fish and oysters) was good except for the oyster, which was not edible. My wife enjoyed her... More

We stopped in for seafood on Thursday night and got a table by the window overlooking the Columbia River. Our service was excellent. Our fish and chips were delicious. The atmosphere is quaint nautical. There is free parking in front. Great for families.

I've had fish and chips many times at many restaurants over the years. The fish and chips here are the best.

The fish and chips here are the best! And the view is amazing too! You must stop by if you are coming through Astoria.
