First of all… I've lived in several major cities, including Boston. And the Silver Salmon's New England clam chowder (thick type) is the BEST I've ever tasted. Both my wife & I agreed, we've never tasted better!! (Boston Pier, eat your heart out!!) I had the triple Salmon dish… and even the coconut prawns were amazing!! (Not too happy w... More

We've been here a number of times in recent years - always been very satisfied. An aura of people who've found what they do well and have focussed on that - more limited in its offerings than other restaurants on Commercial but also less like a three ring circus. Good, solid seafood with sides that don't distract.

we didn't try the restaurant but instead had appetizers and a beverage in the bar on a Friday afternoon. the bbq on a slice of french bread was surprisingly good but the "garlic skinny fries" were pretty bad. they looked, and tasted, like the old fries we used to get, and these were pretty soggy to boot. i had imagined... After two days of culinary indulgence in Astoria, I was craving a salad-- which was delicious. Also at our table, fish and chips and the surf and turf. It took a remarkably long time for dinner to arrive, but everyone enjoyed their meals. Dessert was very satisfying.

The menu has a good variety of seafood and emphasizes local ingredients. They feature a fruited rice side dish, which is indeed a combination of wild rice and regular rice with cranberries and raisins, somewhat unusual but good. Somehow the order got mixed up however so the ktichen initially left the rice off my plate, however the waiter eventually brought... More

I was with a few friends visiting the area. We were recommended by the hotel receptionist to go this restaurant for dinner. We were looking for a steak and seafood restaurant. We were there on a Monday night. When we first walked in, we were the only customers. This took us by surprise. Eventually a few more couples came in.... More

Seating is warm (important during off season), away from doors; service is attentive without being intrusive; servers are knowledgeable about menu; food is regional, fresh and well-plated.

Passing through Astoria on our way back to Seattle from a coastal drive, we consulted Trip Advisor and, seeing the "Certificate of Excellence" but not reading reviews, we stopped for our evening meal. I had Salmon Supreme, and though I love salmon prepared lots of ways, I was definitely not a fan of this one. The fish underneath the stuffing... More

It was martini happy hour in the lounge and the small plates were half price so this stop was a "no brainer". Nice atmosphere and some great art on the walls. We were told that this was the place to come for clam chowder but we have another favorite in Astoria for that particular concoction so we did not try... More
