We ordered crab cakes, a bowl of chowder, and a trio dish. I actually don't remember our entree because I stopped at the chowder. If you love rich, thick, and creamy chowder this is the best. Yum! When we come back I am only having the chowder.

We got a 10% off coupon when visiting the Astoria Tower, on the back of our parking pass for this restaurant. It was time for lunch and we had no idea where to eat in Astoria, so we decided to use the discounted coupon at the Silver Salmon. Driving up to the place, we didn't think too much of it,... More

Based on TripAdvisor reviews this seemed to be the place to go in Astoria for a fresh seafood meal. What a major disappointment. The new season Chinook salmon was overcooked while the accompanying scallops and shrimp were the consistency of erasers. The shrimp were inedible. The service despite very few customers was very, very slow. Perhaps the whole meal had... More

Being in a seaside town, I was excited for fresh seafood. Unfortunately, my crab cakes were very heavy--a lot of breading and heavy provolone cheese that completely overpowered the crab. My dad ordered the Chinook salmon special, which was overcooked. The service was also very slow.

I cannot give an accurate account being that I'm a vegetarian but the salad I had was fresh and crisp, the baked potato was good. They did have other vegetarian options on the menu but I wasn't very hungry so I just stayed with veggies. My love had the Cajun steak with mashed potatoes and he said it was really... More

We shared the salmon crepe starter which was "to die for" then tried the soup of the day - also salmon and lovely then I had chicken milanaise (a girl can only take so much salmon even if it is great!!) and was so stuffed I could hardly move!! Having just arrived from the UK we were uncertain where to... More

We stopped in here for a nightcap. We had debated going to dinner here but I decided I didn't want change out of my sweatshirt so we ended up going somewhere else. Well despite my attire we ended up walking by here and it was really slow so we stopped in. Our bartender was friendly. The day before we were... More

a nice old fashioned interior, and good service. But salads were unimaginative and protein portions very small, so it simply fell short of being very good.

The Silver Salmon is run by people who understand how a restaurant should be run, and who care about even the smallest details of your dining experience: chilled salad forks; and butter at room temperature. The big things were perfect also: food quality & presentation; table service; and value (RoadWearier is a cheapskate, but gladly paid the price for this... More
