Took lunch here on a busy day when a cruise ship was in port. Staff were a bit hassled but coped well. We both had a cup of clam chowder to start and it was excellent - the best we had had on our 3 week road trip. Entrees of fried oysters and crab and prawn "sandwich" were also very... More

Dinner at the Silver Salmon was the best meal we had during a week long visit. I had three-cheese spinach tortellini with grilled salmon filet on top. My Sweetie had crab cakes and said they were the best he'd ever eaten. My entree came with toasted garlic cheese bread which I couldn't finish--the servings are ample but oh so good!

This is a nice old restaurant located in the heart of Astoria. The staff was friendly, and overall the food was good. I started with the clam chowder, which was supposed to be award winning. It was good, but I wouldn't give it any awards. The salmon I had was very tasty and moist. It was a special for the... More

Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous atmosphere. We both had fish dishes with generous, but not too much, portions allowing room for desserts. I had the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake...to die for. Service was excellent, attentive but not pushy. Great dining experience.

We asked for a recommendation after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. He also gave us a card for 10% off our meals. We were waited on by the bartender, a friendly, funny sort who attended to us frequently. Food was good, tables were close enough to each other to engage in conversation with the neighboring table while waiting for the... More

We had a light supper of clam chowder and salad. The cheese bread was very good, a bit saltier than we are used to, but ok. The clam chowder was excellent, the clams were really tender, and there were a lot of them in the nice thick chowder. Very tasty!

We had a wonderful experience at Silver Salmon. We left another spot that had a 45 minute wait and just drove downtown and wandered into Silver Salmon. My older son had the tortellini and it was the best I have ever had. My younger son had the chicken strips off the kids menu. My husband had a Caesar salad it... More

We stopped in for happy hour. The prices were reasonable and there were quite a few small plate selections. We had oyster shooters, which were fresh and good, and calamari, which was lightly breaded and also tasted good. Both were about what I would expect, not fantastic, but about average for appetizers. The beer selection for happy hour was decent... More

I had a salad for dinner, which featured crab and shrimp. I would think for the price charged and the fact that Astoria is a coastal town, the shrimp would have not come from a can.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Silver Salmon. The atmosphere was quite relaxing and cozy. The service was impeccable. The meal was exquisite. It is definitely on my favorite list.
