Food worth the wait

My friends and I visited the Columbian Cafe for breakfast and sat at the counter. We had a front-row view of the chef at work, and this helped pass the time. I'm not going to sugar-coat, it was a long wait for our food. This is not the place to go if you're in a hurry because the kitchen seems... read more

This place is awesome, good cocktails carb loading on yummy bread and jelly. The main courses are fantastic!! Just remember it is small only 3 booths, bar seating and CASH only. A must go while in Astoria Oregon

My husband and I went to Astoria for the weekend and stumbled upon this fantastic joint! We went both days for breakfast. Sit at the bar and watch Kyle the chef do his magic at the grill. All food is fresh and chopped/grated to order. Kyle and Tonya were very friendly. Don't miss!

This place doesn't seat to many and only has 3 booths plus counter service for about 14. The cook cooks right in behind the counter. Great homemade Smoked Salmon Hash! Go early to get a good seat. Best breakfast in Astoria

Columbian Cafe. Aside from an anticipated wait, you'll find your patience will pay off. Let me tell you why. At the Columbian you are getting a meal made fresh. Every time. They don't pre cut vegetables, excellent portions, they make their pasta to order, and I know I'm getting fresh seafood. You can taste the quality of the food. I... More

Waited an hour for 2 eggs over easy with potatoes. Potatoes absolutely tasteless. Also a so called chilli relleno omlette. No poblano chillies - tasteless omelet, tasteless black beans and rice. Avoid Columbian Cafe-Fresca unless you have time to kill and like tasteless food.

Go for chefs choice, and get the bread with all the jelly selection. start with an E shot, or bacon bloody Mary. These guys make food that is awesome!

Seriously, who says "delicious toast"? Well, if you have the jellies that they serve at the Columbian Cafe, then that toast is delicious!! We asked to see where the locals eat, and they sent us here. We were glad they did! There was a bit of a wait, but we went next door to the Voodoo Room for a cocktail,... More

One of my favorite breakfast joints in town. Fresh and unique! Perfect for taking your time and enjoying yourself. Staff is always smiling and the food is always yummy! Can't get enough of their jellies either!

Astoria has some very good eating establishments. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. The accumulated dirt and grease accumulated on surfaces very unappetizing. Take a pass on this one! Return? No way. Recommend. Please see above. No.

I see that this reviewer claims to be from Astoria and has reviewed many dozens of restaurants and hotels around the globe. I wonder how it is that he has not eaten in our cafe in the 35 years we've been open. It's true that we occupy one of Astoria's oldest buildings and that the fixtures do date back. But... More
