My husband and I had dinner at Baked Alaska during our vacation in Astoria, Oregon. Located on a pier, overlooking the Columbia River, Baked Alaska is a restaurant worth visiting. With its picturesque setting, extensive menu, and good service, Baked Alaska is a gem in the city of Astoria. It's history is as rich as its food. Wanting to try... more

We arrived with no reservations and they were very accommodating and even sat us at a river front table. What a great view! Unfortunately, we did not receive good service. After ordering we sat for 45 minutes waiting for our meals or even the waitess to come back to check on us. The kitchen was very slow that night. The... more

We always make Baked Alaska a stop when we are in Astoria and this trip was no exception. The view of the river is beautiful and with some luck you'll be able to watch the pilot boat taking the bar pilots to and from the passing ships. Our meal was excellent as always and the service was good. We have... more

While visiting Seaside, Oregon - we had this restaurant recommended to us. Astoria is a short drive from Seaside, so we made the trip - and we're glad that we did. The view from the main restaurant was quite nice, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and enjoyable. Our only negative would be the slow service we experienced... more

My Husband and I have wanted to try Baked Alaska since we moved to the area a couple of years ago. Despite hearing and reading mixed views we remained open minded and optimistic. When we got to Baked Alaska we waited in a cramped hallway for a hostess to acknowledge us. After being seated we waited awhile (again) for our... more

Ok, this trip to Astoria we ate the appetizers...just about all of them. I was afraid that we might need two tables, one for us and one for all of the food we ordered. The garlic treats with the jalepeno and cream cheese were so good. Cooked perfectly and the avacado and homemade pica de gallo were perfect. The sea... more

Baked Alaska crossed the Columbia bar(one of the nastiest river bars in North America) in style. Stopped for lunch on April 8. The weather was dreary but the views were spectacular. The restaurant is right at the mouth of the River and you can expect to see large freighters coming and going. Food was good not great but the prices... more
