Perhaps it's because I'm from Arizona and have become accustomed to GREAT Mexican food that I found the food to be less than average at the Plaza Jalisco. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce and the chips were stale. My main course-bland! The service was average. Being the only ones in the place on a Monday at lunch time probably... More

Vegetarian selections as well as standards. Great service, personable and friendly, overall very nice lunch experience. But I have to say what stood out was the guacamole. Yep, it's simple, nothing fancy, and honestly, it's the best I've ever had, hands down.

We came in with a part of 6. The service was extremely slow. Took forever to get our order in. One of our party was skipped over twice. Took a while to check out. And we were the only people in the place. The food was ok. The meat was seasoned with too much pepper. They just need to be... More

We arrived between 8:15 and 8:30 after a full day of touring. I ordered chile verde and my wife ordered taquitos. Both were served in dishes too hot to touch with food too hot to eat. Everything looked like it was out of the microwave. The chicken at the ends of the taquitos was burnt and the chile verde was... More

Pleasant decor, good location, good help and great food make this a worthwhile stop. Recommend? Yes. Return? Again and again.

The food here was delicious and pretty close to authentic. The service however was pretty bad. Staff were all pretty rude and overall seemed as if they were unhappy. Our drinks were never refilled nor did they even offer and it took quite a bit after we were finished eating to get our check. If you don't mind bad service... More

The food we had was good, not the real authentic Mexican food but the kind most American's like. The service was not so good. Our waiter asked if we wanted more chips and my husband said yes so he took our basket and never returned with more chips. I asked for a whole bean and rice salad and I got... More

Food is pretty good, average pricing for Astoria. Service is always friendly!! Wish they did a Sunday brunch or something of the sort.

This is where I go when I want authentic Me Ivan food as I actually would get in Mexico. This has a moderate atmosphere, good service and food that is actually authentic as one could get north of the border. I only seek out good Mexican food even in Mexico. I will eat in Mexico good to over the top... More

We were travelling in Oregon and spent the day in Astoria. A great town and I recommend a visit. We stopped in the Plaza Jalisco for lunch on a Monday. I was a little worried because it was lunch time and no one was eating there. The place looked a little run down but some locals recommended it so we... More
