Good food, well priced good sevice.

Well located on the corner of ninth street that connects Marine Drive to eastbound Commercial Street the main way through downtown Astoria. Authentic food and much better than most Mexican restaurants This is a giod choice. Lunch specials are great deals.

What's worse than a waiter who seems wholly disinterested in taking your family's order? One who when he brings the food to the table finds he can't reach the opposite corner of it from where he is standing and so tries to climb over your seated teenage daughter to set down a plate. Hand to God it actually happened. I... More

Had heard this place was good. Stopped in for lunch. Very quaint and good parking. Friendly staff and quick service. They brought fresh home made chips and great salsa and a bean dip. I always order a Chile Relleno when dining at Mexican restaurant. If they can do that right they are generally pretty good. It was excellent and they... More

On my recent "Goonie" trip, I saw this restaurant and stopped. Not knowing what to expect, I'm happy we did. The best Mexican food I've had I. Quite sometime. Wish they'd open in my town.

....and it never disappoints. Yes there are other Mexican places in town and some are a cut above, but their prices certainly reflect that. And yes Jalisco is a chain, but their food (in our experience over 12 years here) is consistant. We've never had a bad dish, though some are better than others. We've also never ever had bad... Arrived in Astoria late on the Monday night. Started looking for a please for dinner and a lot of places already closed at 8:00pm. We both enjoy Mexican food but did not have high expectations. Were we in for a pleasant surprise!! My husband ordered the chicken fajita which came hot and spicy to the table. I ordered the taco... More

We had a taste for Mexican and the staff at our hotel said this is their favorite Mexican restaurant in Astoria. We have no basis for comparison. Maybe this is as good as it gets in Astoria. The food was a little better than your typical American version of Mexican. The portions were generous and the prices were fair. The... More

Perhaps it's because I'm from Arizona and have become accustomed to GREAT Mexican food that I found the food to be less than average at the Plaza Jalisco. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce and the chips were stale. My main course-bland! The service was average. Being the only ones in the place on a Monday at lunch time probably... More

Vegetarian selections as well as standards. Great service, personable and friendly, overall very nice lunch experience. But I have to say what stood out was the guacamole. Yep, it's simple, nothing fancy, and honestly, it's the best I've ever had, hands down.

We came in with a part of 6. The service was extremely slow. Took forever to get our order in. One of our party was skipped over twice. Took a while to check out. And we were the only people in the place. The food was ok. The meat was seasoned with too much pepper. They just need to be... More
